Who could have imagined that a Treaty signed in Munich to guarantee the remaining territory of a small nation from the continued depravations of a large one under the sway of a dictator would prove to be worthless.
I am shocked I tell you, SHOCKED!

So basically breaking the treaty, but demanding Ukraine still abides by it.

Attack of the numerologist!
They have a lot of heavy industry like coal, chemicals and steel, but that will have been fucked up by conflict. They also have a old and declining population - even before the conflict. The rest of Ukraine has been taking faltering steps towards the 21st century tech and service sectors.
I think that FHC should show some responsibility here, and ban all the Russian account.
#sanctions
Why is it called earth, when it is mostly water???
Its not smooth boy's fault the person he votes for is a maniac..
Implying Razoroub votes.
Inb4 a gigantic screed by our favourite "left wing" posters and the following proscription posting by our would be Caesars.
It is a peculiar coincidence that the diplomatic envoys from Donbass and Luhansk have just managed to secure their independence and aid of mother Russia when the whole world is experiencing an energy crisis and the natives are restless because of it and thus sanctions aimed to Russias main exports, oil and gas, would be unpopular.
The whole thing is a lose-lose scenario for all involved but Russia.
My depressing assessment is that Russia can basically act as it pleases it. Except for going onto a full-scale war against an actual NATO member, it has to fear no serious military intervention from anybody. There's too much to lose for every European + NATO country. And if only in the political sense (U.S. midterms) The west will drop some sanctions, but that's about it.
And in some weird way Germany might in a sense benefit from it by dropping the meanwhile awkward and unwelcome Nordstream2 project, because "Sanctions - take that, Russia!oneeleven!"
