The end result will be China buying a lot of Russian assets before sanctions are lifted. They will nominally stay on Putin's side without offering anything more than thoughts and prayers.

Apparently it is now illegal to spread "lies" about the special operation in Ukraine (up to 15 years imprisonment) or to arrange peace protests or to demand sanctions against Russia or Belarus (up to 3 years). The return to the glory of Soviet Union is real.

Oh, it's worse than that. Referring to the "special operation" as a war is now punishable.

The irony is that Moscow may return to how it started - bumboys for a stronger eastern power beating up other slavs to please their masters. China's economy dwarfs Russia's and going forward without hard currency to pay for China's "help" the Russians will slowly devolve down to being Chinese puppets.
