Apparently there's been another, uh, smoking accident in Sevastopol. This time the oil refinery has gone up in smoke, along with 40 thousand tons of fuel.
It does not matter what tonnage was destroyed, it matters that it was deep behind front lines.
Schopenhauer:
All truth passes through three stages.
First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident..
Still, it's a shitshow as auxillary tanks are interconnected. Might not the damage we want, yet is a plenty of chaos on the site to keep it contained.
Basically Sevastopol is now considerably less useful as a naval base until that depot is rebuilt. And it's not going to be rebuilt within the timeframe of this conflict.
And as Sacul correctly points it, it's a savage propaganda blow for the Russian occupiers. Lotta russians booking it across that bridge while there is still a bridge to book it across.
It is pretty big deal to take out a depot. They are very complex facilities, and why there are so few of them.
It must either have access to a deep water port or a pipeline so I doubt Crimea got more than one since it takes 2-3 hours to drive across.
The only way to replenish their fleet in Sevastopol will be by barges. A very vulnerable operation in a warzone.
Likely ships will have to go to another port to refuel or do it at sea outside of Ukraine's reach.
Why is it called earth, when it is mostly water???
American bases right next to the suburbs of Saint Petersburg?Finland is negotiating a defensive cooperation agreement with the United States, which, among other things, allows the construction of American military bases on Finnish territory.
Everything is going according to the plan.
I wonder what the Russian talk shows will threaten Finland with for this? Maybe I'm a little spoiled, but the threats towards the UK have been quite imaginative, and I appreciate that kind of effort. I feel like Finland at least deserve to be threatened with kamikaze reindeer or something.

Ukrainian Defence Minister suggests that Russia is preparing new "goodwill gesture"
Why is it called earth, when it is mostly water???
We got the honor to host Zelensky today, the visit was announced 30min before he is supposed to give a public speech.
The visit was quite nicely masked with the nordic defense minister meetup that was announced some time ago as a cover.
And the joint nordic statement is now out, calling for Russia to withdraw all of its troops from the sovereign territority (per-2014 borders) of Ukraine unconditionally and immediately.
Kinda looks like a false flag to "justify" full mobilization.
An interesting article about fighting in the Dnipro delta near Kherson. Not the spring offensive, but a long-running, bloody yet underreported fight.
