They guys put in front of the camera do at least seem to actually be Russian. As far as we can tell their absolute numbers seem to be very small - a few hundred at most.
But yeah this is very much Ukraine using Russia's own salami tactics right back on them. Once again, Ukraine's troll game is masterly.
Holy trolls. Those absolute madlads hacked the local radio station and announced that this Sunday there would be a referendum to vote for the Belgorod People's Republic. Absolute chaos, panic and looting commenced.

Looks like the Belgorod - Or Bilhorod as I think we should now call it - situation is developing , with the FoR guys being joined by some Poles for the LOLs, and advancing on multiple points to actually hold some territory. It's only a few kilometres, for now, but Russia doesn't really seem to have any answer other than shelling their own settlements.
They'd need to pull a few thousand men out of Ukraine to deal with this and frankly I don't think they can do that without conceding some territory there.
There are reports that the Novaya Kakhovka HPP has been blown up by Russians. We got to the next new low. This will cost soooo much for Russia to rebuild.

First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident..
a humanitarian disaster that might also result in water supply for Crimea being completely cut off.
So the Russians go into panic mode and use their silver bullet too soon. It will certainly affect the Ukrainian offensive, but I don't think it will come earlier than August, after they will get all tanks/IFV promised.
July/August will be too late, too close to autumn. The next mud season.
I think Russia rightfully feared a offensive crossing the Dnipro river.
Now for the rest of the year, vehicles can't cross the river.
They have effectively cut in half the width from where UA can launch a offensive to attack the south.
There is a huge Fog of War in effect, maybe UA have massed the new brigades in the area, and Russia believed they would cross the river into their weaker defensive lines.
Why is it called earth, when it is mostly water???
Jesus fucking christ Russia.. /facepalm
Just when you think they can't be anymore of a bunch of utter moronic, retarded cunts (bombing hospitals and civilian shelters, assistng chemical attacks etc), they go an lower the bar even further. I understand the short term tactical advantage that blowing the dam provides, but it will certainly not stop/delay the counter attack at all and may result in more avenues for Ukrainian explotation.
Russia, you utter dumbfuck asshats.
