Perhaps it was a cunning gambit to do something obviously ridiculous in a manner only your enemy could observe with aerial photography and then see how long it takes them to release it as propaganda, in order to establish how often an area was being surveiled?
Probably not though.
Deutsche Welle reports that the Ukraine has developed its own long(er) ranging drone, which is what's used fot these strikes.
I've heard that as well. But then again someone comment on that with, paraphrased: "I'd say the same for two reasons: keep Russia guessing were the drone development and building is done and secondly increase the "discomfort level" of Russia that now has to look for troops (partisans) in their own territory, potentially diverting forces away from the main battle lines."
This war is as much about information warfare as it is about actual battles.
There are plans to eventually strike Moscow and other targets inside Russia using the modified Neptune.
Beyond the Neptune missile:
"The flurry of new weapons programs included at least one effort to produce a ground-launched, long-range cruise missile in the class of the American Tomahawk. An autonomous precision munition that could strike enemy targets a thousand miles away or farther."
"Now Ukraine has a compelling reason finally to finish the Korshun: Russia’s 19-month wider war on the country."

Guess what Russian air defense is doing if an air base needs to resort to old tires for protection? According to a businessman from the top 50 Russian Forbes:
“I was offered to pay for an air defense installation near my house. I refused, because if you shoot down a rocket or a drone over the house, then there is a chance that it will fall somewhere “in the wrong place”. But I heard that there is a demand for this “service".

Obligatory the latest Perun video about the air warfare.
We're getting some balls in leadership finally. Exercise with an active combatant, in a declared warzone.
How to become millionaire in one step
Why is it called earth, when it is mostly water???
That's a bold promise, considering the Ukraine isn't even a NATO member. Not saying this isn't true, but I suspect that aircraft to be "shared around" then rather earlier than later.Ukraine's Defence Intelligence Service has announced that the Russian Air Force pilot [...] will be awarded [...] documents from any NATO country of his choice
Sevastopol base right now:

Those are some good hits! But man, its sure is up and down in this awful conflict.
So on the other hand we have ukr making progress, painfully but clearly moving on better. New packages and missiles hitting faaaar behind the lines, even several videos of HIMRAS at their extreme range hitting high values stuff where they clearly thought they were safe.
But also those fuckin mines! I wonder if there will be new discussions around their use, but given their obscene efficiency I doubt anyone who havent already removed their use will change now.
And there is still old schoool ruzzia tactics causing dumb losses for Ukr even though its moving forward to the better but still... and peak of that seems to be the death of Jordan Chadwick which starting to look like he was killed by his own command for refusing such dumb suicide missions.
Can Putin please just fuck off and die already!
