Solo shield Zealot. Bit ballsy, with no neuts but it's great at popping frigates @ 40km away.

Anyone have a standard fit for the snipe Zealot that used to roll around in the snipe HAC gangs of about a year ago?

    Re: Zealot

either you can use the one posted by cloud.

or you could go for a glasscannon.

    Heat Sink II
    Heat Sink II
    Heat Sink II

Heavy Beam Laser II, Aurora M
Heavy Beam Laser II, Aurora M
Heavy Beam Laser II, Aurora M
Heavy Beam Laser II, Aurora M

    Medium Polycarbon Engine Housing I

second rig either poly, locus t2 (for 124km optimal) or a targeting system subcontroller (for pod-whoring).

excluding the rigs this was the zealot setup used by ev0ke ... we rarely had shield logistics in our sniper HAC gangs >_<

Clouds looks pretty standard although I'd fit a locus rig instead of the EM-rig and possibly a signal amp instead of the CPR.

Would this be a better variation on cloud's fitting? Less cap stable but almost 2k more ehp

MWD for burning through bubbles and shit, yeah you have to drop to FMPs, but such is life. Lows are mildly pimped for CPU issues.

Not really, and we can't all roll around in 90-man blobs of them, so.

Still yes, though. The AB is like 50% of its tank. 10 AHACs is just as effective as 90 is against the same ratios of BS - ie. roughly equal numbers.

That only counts untill the one-volley alpha numbers though

No, literally the entire point of an AHAC is being able to sig tank BS guns. If your sig is chilling around double the size of a battleship, you'll get lol-alpha'd and you'll drop ships like crazy. Even not running the MWD, you'll lose speed and a web or two makes you an almost stagnant target again, to get alpha'd.

So no, MWD is pants on head retarded.

Doesn't matter much anymore anyways. Everyone knows the way to beat AHACs is with drakes.

We take our Ahacs up against Drakes

Anyway I guess on that fit you can dual prop it with an AB instead of the TC, I prefer the extra range though.

I was checking stim kb when i noticed they use ahacs with mwd. Given that they usually operate in small gangs (up to 30 duders) it might really be viable. Never tried it so cant tell.

It's not viable, because you might as well be flying Deimoses for all the difference it would make.

That said, AHAC roams in and of themselves are somewhat dumb - you're rolling around in an expensive blob of ships that cannot run away from anything. They're a counter to BS fleets, not a general fleet setup.

You lose some tank, but gain the ability to chase BC blobs around without having to use on grid bounces. Seems like an ok trade if you're doing the sort of small scale fighting rote does.

The counter to AHACs is pulse baddons, painters and webs. Drakes aren't that effective until you've got enough to alpha guardians.

Anywho, my take on the pulserape zealot.
