    Scenario: getting thin on top

Pondering whether to go full early Victorian face hedge or spank some cash on a good safety razor, a bag of accessories and a stash of DEs

    Beard pros:
It's fucking cold in Scotland for a good 8/12 the year, and the facial insulation is frankly welcome
I can use it to terrorise my nephews when they're cheeky in my presence, which is basically always
I can maintain it for free with this Whal trimmer my brother gave me about 20 years ago and still works like new
Beards are apparently in right now, idk?

    Beard cons:
    It's itchy quite often
Stuff gets in it, especially the upper lip region
I look like Charles Darwin's unmentionable half-brother who was far too excited about marrying a 17 year old.
Nephews growing at an alarming rate, presumably necessitating detente talks at some point

EDIT: Status quo: All over #2 cut self applied while standing over the bin; free, effective but makes me look like the latest Crimewatch star.

Get some beard balm to stop the itch, and go full upside-down face

Beard balm and a beard soap should stop the itch. I've never had a particularly itchy beard so my recommendation may be useless but L'Oreal do a beard shampoo which is good.

Unsure about beard balm, but for me beard oil works a charm. That and also getting it trimmed every two weeks is the way to go.

Honestly the way my hair keeps falling off, I'm building epic beard to be able to shave my head at one point and go for biker granddad looks (weight lifting also helps ).

Itching is also just a length thing if your beard has any curl/waviness to it, once it grows to the the length where it's no longer curving against your skin the itch dissapears.

Well, it depends on how much mass you have.

In other news, Movember is upon us. I am clean-shaven and will try going for a full beard this year.

One week in, the beard is filling out. Doesn't look good now, but that will change.

Well in that case keep the cheeks trimmed but let the neck beard grow freely.

    Easiest way to avoid that:
    https://www.shaving.ie/products/muhl...sic-razor.html
I have one and it really works wonders.

Amazon delivered razor blades, shaving soap and a shaving brush today.

    Just not the actual razor.

I can't help feeling like they're fucking with me.
