This is what I'm getting it in my initial post, MT can POTENTIALLY be worse but it currently isn't yet. Until CCP oversteps their boundaries with MT, I don't really care. You can already buy your way through the game as is (Yes, I understand the difference).

If PLEX were to hold steady at 400 million ISK each, hypothetically, the Tornado could be introduced as a vanity version of the Tempest. Functionally identical, statistically matched, and otherwise completely the same ship... but at a cost of, say, 100 Aurum + Tempest to acquire it. Every Tornado that flies in space will net CCP an extra 43 cents of income while costing a player 11.5 million ISK or that 43 cents. The gameplay is unaffected, and if CCP is extra devious, it could even be an ISK sink with a bit of mandatory overhead on the trade-in + Aurum.

I honestly can't fault them for this on a game design standpoint since it doesn't have to have designed obsolescence by being a consumable product (every time it blows up). At the same time, a beautiful idea that was done out of a passion for the game would be used to help fill CCP's coffers, and set a precedent for other improved or enhanced art assets ending up behind a paywall.

I'm fine with textures, but I don't want to see hulls stuck this way too

yeah hypothetically they can delete all eve accounts and sell your bank details via microtransactions but you know ccp will not sell ships via mt because of the outrage this will cause. i'm seriously not worried this will ever happen.

microtransactions in eve are all dust alpha testing anyways. and maybe vampires alpha testing.

While I can see why some people might confuse the two, RMT and MT are completely different enterprises.

Unfortunately I think CCP might end up utilizing both.

You are implying they might not.

They already do Real Money Trading (by Proxy, mind, in an undeniably clever manner), and they've explicitly said they're going to do Micro Transactions (for vanity stuff only, apparently).

Look guys. It's going to happen. Down the road, for some Aurum, you can get that second mid slot on a Retribution.

It's just like trying to have sex with a tight girl when your packing. At first your start in very easy, till they get used to it, then go in a little deeper, wait for them to get used to it, then a bit deeper, etc. Get the picture?

It all comes down to supply and demand. If the demand is there, someone will supply. Right now there is all kinds of fags that are willing to pay a bit of pocket change to get a slight advantage in PvP.

"Well, for 25 cents, I can launch 6 drones instead of 5 on this Dominix,.. Hmmm.. Fuck it. It's only 25 cents."

I was more implying that MT might eventually become as widespread as their RMT market (the "legal" one)

Countries do not exist where I am from. The discovery of the Higgs boson led to limitless power, the elimination of poverty and Kit-Kats for everyone. It is a communist chocolate hellhole and I'm here to stop it ever happening.

    You so sure?

Lets imagine if all those macro/bot miners that mine in empire would disappear over the night, mineral price would supposedly go up and thus increase the overall pricelevel of pretty much everything. Oviously some people will take over empire mining as it's more lucrative now, but overall supply is less than before.

Obviously this is not true for all the anomaly/belting ravens.

Please continue this discussion in the devblog thread.

Merging all these MT threads into the devblog thread would create an unreadable mess so I'll just lock this.
