You're a few years late, PLEX/GTC has been around for a while...
Don't worry. That bulldozer is just aesthetic.
RMT is not the same as MT.Originally Posted by Davd

CCP is introducing vanity items that can only be introduced into the game economy by spending micro-PLEXes (called Aurum) in a virtual store. Since these articles of clothing can only be spawned into the game from something that required real life money, they are microtransactions, not RMT (like the current PLEX for ISK system). CCP ended the blog by saying that they'll consider expanding the store from just clothes in the future (though what that means is unknown, however don't be surprised if a bulldozer is added sooner or later).Originally Posted by Davd

The image seems to represent that better than the current unknown effect of MT, or maybe I'm just crazy?
Yes I understand the difference between MT and RMT forcing people to stay within the mechanics of the game.
The image implies that the CCP stick figure spawned the bulldozer into the game for the top-hatted gentleman of distinguished taste. Your example of a guy buying Titans didn't actually mean that CCP spawned those Titans for him. The former is a lot worse than the latter (though both are sleazy).Originally Posted by Davd
The worst the Russian can do is buy more buckets and spades. Only CCP can (and probably will) sell the bulldozers.Originally Posted by Zoidberg

here's most of the people who play caring.
nope.
no.
I'm glad PLEX are worth more now.
I tried to be cool and all I got was a lousy warning about my sig being too big.
Best way I've heard it so far.Originally Posted by Evelgrivion

A Titan has to be built with materials that were mined, blueprints that were bought, in territory that alliances claimed. Anything bought through micro-transactions is made of materials that were never mined, blueprints that were never bought, and you could conceivably buy these things anywhere. On these grounds, Micro-transactions for non-vanity goods are worse than RMT.Originally Posted by mazzilliu

that's just a whole new realm of :fuckingwhat: and I can't imagine even them doing something like that.
And all of this is assuming they take it that far, which I genuinely don't think they'll do. Skins, yeah, trophies, sure. More things like the noctis (was that it?) I can imagine. Re-releases of old token items like jove body bits and such I can see. But full blown combat ships, even capitals? The bad PR alone would prevent them from doing it. In my eyes, CCP has always been in the market of harsh universes and such. If they're going into shit like MT suddenly they're in a closer competition with the rest of the industry. I would think they like their niche, because the players like them being in that niche.
But I'm probably dead wrong and in a matter of months ccp will be all like holla holla get dolla
i read threads and make bad posts and i'm all out of read threads
shitposting shitposts one shitpost at a shitpost
??????????????????
I'll get excited about microtransactions if I can buy a module that allows me to punch people in the face over the internet.
Also, to be fair, CCP has, to my knowledge, never said that they were even thinking about introducing anything but vanity items via MTs and given that they even have their own economist (lawl) I'd say even they are too smart for that. Plus, given the depth of Eve, there are so many options for vanity items that CCP basically has an almost infinite money fountain on their hands right there (MY PINK THORAX*).
Also what Mazz said.
*: I know about the Phobos, shut up. It's not really pink.
