Early reviews do suggest that Lower Decks is the most Trek nuTrek to date.

First thoughts: it wasn't terrible. It wasn't great either.
The heart is there, and the writers clearly know their Trek. However Mariner is insufferable. I'll give it a few more episodes, but if her character is going to be mouthing off at Warp 5 in every episode, I'll probably drop it.

Life is absurd, but with a little effort we can make it completely ridiculous
I had a great deal of laughs watching this.
Why is it called earth, when it is mostly water???
Watching your reactions I have an urge to start reving up those reeeeeeees.

I thought it was a massive pile of shit and didn't even smirk. vOv
You mean The Office. Office Space is an excellent movie.
It invented the red Swingline stapler.

You should watch peep show
Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves for slaughter.

Ep. 2, still don't hate it. As hit and miss as the jokes might be, the show keeps taking shots at all things Trek, which means that at the very fucking least they know what Trek is, which is more than I can say for Alex. Imagine me literally biting off these words in disgust. Kurtzman.
Tangentially started watching Final Space, which has Gina Torres in it, which made me want to rewatch Firefly next. Well played.

It hits more than it misses right now and it's nice to see a different side to Trek. That said I'm not sure how long the constant 'nudge nudge wink wink reference from DS9/TNG/Voy LOOK WE KNOW STAR TREK' can last. They even got a section 31 joke in.
'I'm pro life. I'm a non-smoker. I'm a pro-life non-smoker. WOO, Let the party begin!'
At least they got the intro right.
(Rest is quite fun to tbh)
It is kind of weird how they're either trying to deliberately invert, or have just grossly misunderstood, the fundamental lessons of the older Trek episodes they're aping off of. I'm also not really buying Mariner as the protag, I figured I'd give it a couple episodes and see if the character grew on me but so far p. much everything about every character feels like they just grabbed a handful of tropes and stuffed them into a shell they could move around and make talk. The captain actually seems the most interesting, someone who's self-conscious about her ship's performance and struggling to keep a misfit crew in order, whose uptightness produced a kid that rebelled against basically everything she cares about and is now back in her life as a part of that crew? That's like, actual characterization.
I think I'm being more forgiving of it because almost everything from NuTrek has been complete garbage, and Lower Decks at least appears to have been made by people who wanted to make it, which, what a low fucking bar to clear but here we are ~

Did any of you watch a Sci Fi show on Showtime, called Odyssey 5?

Nope. It's not available on a streaming platform in Germany. It apparently has been aired on TV back in 2002, but I don't remember having ever stumbled upon it. And I'd clearly what have watched it, as I basically consume anything sci-fi, regardless of its quality.
