Hey fuck you, that barrel was really heavy. It just looks light, but it was heavy enough to break his back.

I just spent over $100 on tea cups that were the same kind picard and a few people in ten forward drank out of.

Also heard that a trailer will drop in a few hours.

All I can think about when I look at that woman are Jean Todt's droopy old man balls resting on her chin as she services him. How the hell am I going to watch this.

    Trailer drop.

Looks like the visual style of the JJ'verse is here to stay, but we kind of knew that was coming.

Ship looks like it would fit the era (though disappointingly stark and cold).

Klingons are different (beyond the new body features introduced by JJ). I'm wondering if there will be a reason explained or if Klingon culture are being rewritten.

So the Discovery is not the Phase II Enterprise (which looked like the Enterprise and a D7 had a child), but an Akira.

Also, wasn't this supposed to be not in the JJ-universe?

Oh, and the season was extended to 15 episodes up from 13. Hopefully that included a budget increase to go with it, but we will see what that gets them when it comes to reception.

Has Michelle Yeoh been ADR'd in that trailer? Her voice seems more prominent than the others, which makes her accent all the more jarring when surrounded by neutral American TV voices.

I'm reading now that the ship shown in the trailer is actually the Shenzhou from the first episode, before the new captain gets command of the Discovery.

We might have not seen anything of the Discovery in the trailer yet.

To be fair, so was the NX Enterprise.

I know. But the Akiraprise was modeled after the Akira, so I obviously compared the ship shown to the Akira.

Netflix trailer for you lucky bastards who will get to watch without paying for CBS All Access.

Completely different mood. I wonder which is closer to the actual show.

Well, that looks like complete shite..

Will try first episodes of course but I am genuinely sad after seeing that.

Shameless Nimoy plug, randomly re-working the Klingons and another ship that looks more advanced than the TOS Enterprise but is set before it.

    Fuck

I grew into Enterprise quite nicely so I remain to be impressed, not totally closed minded

"I think we could all do with sitting back a bit and detaching ourselves from the situation to really think about how these issues reflect on our future and how we discuss them here and be a bit less aggressive or defensive because everyone has a complicated set of circumstances that has led the to place importance on particular issues and it doesn't meany any of them is less valid, we just need to look at the broader picture"

So, if this is indeed the prime universe, 10 years before the events of TOS puts it alongside this:

Yeah lets film it like time in the real world hasn't progressed at all that will really make it last.
