"I think we could all do with sitting back a bit and detaching ourselves from the situation to really think about how these issues reflect on our future and how we discuss them here and be a bit less aggressive or defensive because everyone has a complicated set of circumstances that has led the to place importance on particular issues and it doesn't meany any of them is less valid, we just need to look at the broader picture"

Headlong down silly street. Spore drive stuff is still fun and has potential but everything else is just terrible.

Guns make the news, science doesn't.
I found this particular episode a bit disappointing. Most likely because I liked the previous one very much. For my taste...
Spoiler:
This sounds probably more negative than I actually feel about it. This observation is purely caused by relating the last two epsiodes. I still enjoyed it.
https://screenrant.com/star-trek-dis...-game-thrones/The showrunners of Star Trek: Discovery raised some eyebrows when, before the show premiered, they spoke about how modern, prestige shows like Game of Thrones were a major influence on their approach to the venerable science fiction franchise. Some of those influences were givens, and more a product of the fact Star Trek had been absent from television for over a decade and would have to modernize a bit. That meant higher production values, a more modern sense of humor, and highly serialized storytelling, which have all worked to varying degrees.
I expect tits in next episodes.
And here I was expecting beheadings.

Id be down for that.
I havent followed Discovery after the first few episodes, in part because i couldnt stand the "quirky" characters (so random ginger, whiny science bitchboy, totally not Spock alien dude, Sarek the wet towel). Maybe ill get back to it, does the season arc pick up a little? The whole Klingon war thing kept meandering, with new primary antagonists coming and going randomly each episode.
