I chuckled, even though that's the first thing pretty much everyone thought of when the spore drive was introduced.
This is worse than I thought, there's no butter in my coffee!

Maybe third time's the charm? Certainly there's no one better to have played Pike than Mount.

If they fix the writing, I do hope they do something about how space battles are staged; it'll still all fall apart if it's a bunch of quick cuts with lens flair like DIS/PIC.

Pike carried S2 of discovery, so if they can improve on the writing it could be real good

And the saga or Redlettermedia influencing hollywood execs continues. Hope it turns out better than JJ at Star Wars.

I think I asked for precisely this thing after that season ended, but now after seeing the utter hatchet job they did on Picard I'm a little bit very nervous.

Picard wasn't done by CBS but Paramount.

Does the production house suddenly make these people not suck?

Oh boy. It definitely follows the pattern we were just talking about, a lot of weird and dumb stuff in the first couple seasons. But when it gets good it gets really good. Enjoy the ride, friend.
Until the terribad ending, that is.
DS9 ended with them toasting the fallen in the holosuite after the war. Your TV mysteriously craps out after that. There was no idiodic Dukat C plot. Fite me.

Considering that execs like to fiddle with minute details, it has a bigger impact probably.
Not that it will help with fanboys being upset.

Christopher Pike running the original starship Enterprise with Spock, and Number One.

I really hope it's not shit and they get some decent writers. Ansen Mount and Ethen Peck carried Season 2 of Discovery.

I'm terribly sorry that you're upset at a white male stealing the show.

We’ve also had decades for that media to percolate into the culture.

That said television is just *different* than it was in the ‘80s and ‘90s.

    But..

Still think it’s possible Rios is a hologram with a mobile emitter.
