For those of you who have played in the beta, what are the graphical requirements? For example, if you wanted to play on max settings, what graphics card would you need? gtx560? Or would something cheaper do the trick? (looking at nVidia cards)

Was using a GTX470 during the beta and handled everything maximum at 1920x1080 without issues. In saying that there was some talk of effects being capped depending on your hardware.Windows® XP Service Pack 2 or better • Intel® Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3, AMD Athlon 64 X2, or better • 2 GB RAM • NVIDIA® GeForce® 7800, ATI X1800, Intel HD 3000, or better (256MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better) • 25 GB available HDD space • Broadband Internet connection • Keyboard and mouse
GTX 560 Ti here. The most recent tests I believe they added more AA/sampling options which lowered my FPS a bit, but I'm not having any real issues outside of larger battles.
is it serious about Intel HD?
O.o
Impressive if true.
No. A Rhinoceros is not a fat Unicorn.
As with all minimum requirements, yes it will technically run, and I even got better than slideshow framerates on a marginal work laptop (intel 3k) last stress test, but you wouldn't really want to do anything involved like events or wubwub, and your draw distance will make you sad. The intel 4k on Ivy Bridge cpu's should be much better, and almost any discreet gpu from this or the previous generation will get you perfectly acceptable performance.
thanks man.
That's exactly what my GF has, and i was wondering if she'll be able to cyberstalk me over to this once it's running.

For those wishing to become members of the ELITE organization known as "The Bakery" on the glorious Ehmry Bay server, I'll try to get a basic forum setup later tonight. I have an artist working on propaganda posters.
Tbh we should all just stick together, even if we can join multiple guilds. Having FHC spread around would only make communication a pain in the ass.
Do we still need to decide about our EU homebase?
LOL SIGNATURES.
in regards to server, during stress test the numbers on boreal & seafarer's were like this:
Seafarer's Rest (EU server) Low population
Boreal Station (EU server) Medium population
my guess:
Boreal has a bit more people (1500 compared to 1000 on gw2guilds because there's a 500 member guild registered which is apparently only for people who are 30+) but also random guilds that will be full of bads (PC Gamer / RPS guild)
Seafarer's has a few less people, but more guilds focused on being good at PvP (couple of Russians etc.) and other non-English guilds
I have no clue what people want, either works for me![]()
i'm pathetic. i woke up early as fuck, got to work early as fuck, just so i can play 4 hours of a shitty stress test.
The main issue I have with low pop worlds is that.. well.. the world is going to be fairly empty. PvE I mean. Meta events really require a decent group of players which will simply not be there on low pop once everyone starts spreading throughout all of the explorables.

For PvE you can always just guest in another server any time you want. Not sure exactly how it works though, whether you have to have a friend on a given server or if you can just hop about as you please. You just can't WvW on a foreign server - so that should be the biggest consideration really.
Choosing a server for WvW is the same as anything else imo, best spot is somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. You don't want a ghost town that never sees any epic sieges, but you perhaps also don't want the ultra tryhards of the busiest servers. For one thing, I can imagine that the biggest and highest MMR WvW servers will also have by far the highest amount of gems spent on WvW, ie srs business guilds blowing vast quantities of rl cash on upgraded keeps, siege weapons etc. Happy to avoid that shit.

It costs those gems or whatever currency to server transfer but are these available to be earned in game or only purchased with rl cash? If they are earned in game then it probably does not really matter where you go at the start.
Edit - turns out it will cost £19 to transfer server.
