Got home. Played about 15 minutes. Game crashed and there's a login server error. WELP.

Also made a Failheap guild on Ehmry Bay, so join if you want your tag to be [FAIL]. If you can log in. Which I can't.

How do you search for guilds in-game? I can't seem to figure out how to join a guild if you don't know them out of game and asked them (out of game) to invite you

Then, you have to find the guy to talk to that pulls up the PVP match interface. This is highly unnecessary.

Then, you are presented with a giant fuckoff list of servers, most of them with only 1 or 2 people. The vast majority of PVP games I've played so far have just been 3v2, 2v1, etc. matchups, and the lower side invariably loses terribly. Far too much effort to find a halfway decent matchup in a game buit around balanced, skill-based PVP.

EDIT: Apparently they just patched the client to include HORRIBLE LAG now. Beta status confirmed.

They patched the lag issue away again an hour or two later.

Also was that you as Ruriruri I saw diving around in the big lake in Kessex?

I'm up to level 29 on my warrior now, wandering around the new Gendarran area trying to get to 30 so I can buy a bunch of new gear and unlock me some elites.

Instead of whining about hot-join PvP, you could just get a team going and enter in tournaments.

I'm not sure I'm going to be interested enough in GW2 enough to be :srs: about tournaments and such. The quality of gameplay would def. improve in such an environment, no doubt about that. That doesn't excuse how bad their casual/hot-join PVP system is atm though. BWE1 was actually working better, so its very weird that they've slid backwards like this. They've stated they want some form of ELO system based on glory, but what they have today is a far cry from a working casual bracket. At the very, very least, their servers need to be able to create balanced teams (same #v#), which they can't do at all right now.

Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the PVE content, and I like a lot of what the game has to offer and the things its doing differently. The overall FPS and latency (small hiccup earlier asside) is also much improved over BWE1. Whatever their PVP team is doing, well, they have some more work cut out from them.

I am only playing random PvP with classes to find out what's fun, trying to leave most of the PvE now because the Charr 1-10 area was so good that I just want to experience it all on launch ;3

the PVE is superb, theres loads of stuff to do and a real sense of exploration and adventure rather than GO HERE DO THIS

some of the quests are shit but theres so much of it and the scenery so much fun to explore..

It was indeed. We were trying to do the Krait witch event but the bitch never showed. I think I'm getting to 30 as well, then I'll try out other classes, make me a Charr engi or somethin'.

prolly gonna be terrible in PvP because I'll PvE so much even though I've done mostly PvP in all MMO's I've played previously

the pvp is pretty balanced too. at first i was pissed at the ranged classes, but i found out that the one space mage class does more damage the farther they are away from you, so if you close in on them, they are FUCKED. not sure how it works with rangers but they only seem to dominate when you are sieging.

the sieging in this game is so cool. last night i was in a very prolonged siege, as defenders. dumping oil on motherfuckers is so much fun. it's so intense when they get up a fire battering ram.

also the escort supply events are cool too. so much random shit can happen.

i think the world v world stuff was fun, not sure about the structured stuff yet

we've been mainly doing pve stuff this time round, the norn zones are really good :3

finding it pretty hard to solo shit as my elementalist tho, gonna try some other classes
