I found it interesting stylistically, and it started out good, but the last 30 minutes or so were wank imo.
You are right about ending but I wouldn't call it good either, it was just decent.

Also call me a movie hipster or w/e but i still think Tarkovsky's Stalker and Solaris are what pinnacle of real scifi is.
Gattaca was amazing and I personally absolutely loved it but I can understand people's objections to it.
The Congress was mindblowing and so was a Scanner Darkly.
Another Earth if you like heavy scifi drama or even fucking Vanilla Sky.
Or Pandorum if you are into horror scifi;s. Alien. Aliens.
Primer maybe if you like overdone fucked up plots that no one sane can get clearly.

But no, we still jerk off to Moon :P

I mean I loved Moon too but god damn people...
Shoutout to Another Earth altough it's more style/:Feels: than substance.

    You soulless bastard!

One of those movies were you really need to be high as FUCK and will probably never watch again, but is still a good view.
    Pretty boring though.

I still think Interstellar is one of the most underrated sci fi films made in the last decade.

    I didn't really enjoy interstellar.

I'm not really sure why, it seems like the sort of film I'd like.

The ending was absolute horseshit, that's my main gripe.

That our 5 dimensional future selves, provided a user interface for our present selves to transmit information from inside a black hole?

    Better ending than most IMO.

I thought the story telling was a bit crap.

No, it was typical tacked on hollywood happy ending bullshittery.

That explains why I can't really remember anything that happens in the final 40 minutes. Something to do with dr who and a dusty watch or something.

Nah. Don't think the protagonist dying in black hole improves the film as the core of it is the father daughter relationship that would just be an unresolved lose end.

And it doesn't make less sense in the context of 5 dimensional beings (as that implies an everett interpretation of QM anyway).

    Nah.

    The endings fine.

The love story and the brother subplot was a hammy and unnecessary.

Also, this thread clearly proving my point. (X film is underrated... no, it's a terrible film because, reasons.)

Totally agree with Interstellar, A++. Loved Arrival as well, but point of my post was to show that there are absolutely amazing scifi movies that were not highlighted in this thread 20 times and of various subgenres
