Oh man, so he didn't fuck off to obscurity after that. I very much enjoyed that movie, hyped for this one.

I'm having visual orgasm just by looking at the trailer. Fuck me, that dude has an eye for visuals.

Watched the spike lee remake of Oldboy on netflix last night.

Lacks a bit of the insanity of the Korean one, but I still enjoyed it.

I don't know if I can get past Nick Cage but the rest looks really neato.

So The Last Jedi showed up on Netflix so I watched it. It's... pretty fucking bad. Such gorgeous scenes here and there, fine directing, and the acting is mostly fine I guess but jesus god that writing. I expected bad and wasn't disappointed.

Well, it's definitely the first movie where Nick Cage plays Ash Williams.

Saw Isle of Dogs today, that was a very different movie.
    Will have to recommend it.

    Saw Death of Stalin.

Hysterical, and grim. Pretty great cast. Made me want to read up on what we know of the real events.
    A+ would recommend.

Would be more hype if the soundtrack was by Sinoia Caves again.

Yeah, I'm lumping the plot and the dialogue into writing. It starts with dropping bombs in space and just sort of hangs at that level of dumb for the whole movie. It's a shame, 'cause there's so much potential. And now they've ruined the potential "ex-stormtrooper" character by making Finn have no internal conflict or... anything at all to contribute except being an errand boy. I guess he's still alive so they could salvage something out of his character. Except that he's already murdered so many other stormtroopers that it can never make sense.

Now to wait for Solo on Netflix. I suppose I don't hate these movies because at least they're not doing very well in the box office so I can get some schadenfreude out of it.

Arrival, Sicario...was supposed to do Blade Runner 2049 but got replaced with Zimmer, sadly.

BR 2049 didn't have a bad OST, quite good in my opinion.

    Oh no, it wasn't bad.

I just really wanted to see another Villeneuve/Jóhannsson collaboration after Sicario and Arrival.
