Saw "Color Out of Space" for Halloween.

    It wasn't good.

Unfathomable, insanity-causing cosmic horror is just really hard I guess.

Felt "Annihilation" did a better job with a vaguely similar concept, well, till the end. The end of that film was pretty bad too.

Apart from Gulags and big empty Nature, what about Siberia are you looking to learn about? The native cultures?

Yeah, that sort of stuff. I'm asking around about docus, because I've read a book about polish journalist went hitchhiking from Magadan along its only road down to Yakutsk. There were stories about ghost towns abandoned after resources run out save for one man still living there, man eating bears ripping open trucks like can of sardines, how he met local police chief playing cards and drinking vodka with the local gangster, how russian siberian oligarchs conducted business, that sort of stuff.

Sounds cool, actually. If I run across anything I'll let you know mate, but nothing springs to mind sadly.

YouTube may actually be the best place to search around, with all the "Let's explore the abandoned and sorta scary" folks on YT, I know I've watched at least ONE vid on abandoned camps in, if not Siberia itself proper, cold-ass north-eastern Russia.

    He was playing solitaire?
Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves for slaughter.

    Saw Paths of Glory.

Movie about violent class struggle without mentioning the term itself. Riled up my jimmies really good. Top movie.

Stuart Ashen (Ashens) is a pillar of the British YouTube scene going back over a decade. This is the second independent film based on his fictionalized persona and most of the cast are other YouTube personalities that he has collaborated with in the past.

I didn't expect much interest TBH but I'm not sure where the hostility is coming from.

It's not going to be Oscar-worthy but certainly better than a lot of the direct-to-Amazon type stuff that exists out there.

I was genuinely confused by the trailer of a seemingly awful amateur / me-and-my-mates-project-for-film-school movie production.

    I guess that explains it.

Watched it couple of days ago (it was a regular movie, not docu). Was p. cool indeed. Esp. loved the shots of Lake Chanka in winter.

Bit different than his other movies tho.

I remember reading the blurb and thinking "Battlefield Earth, but less Ron Hubbard?"

Tbh i have a strong suspicion that the One True Cage will have about 5 minutes of screen time. More of a hope really.

e: "You are the Chosen Jew Jitsu!" what is the even. Did they want to make a Mortal Combat knockoff?

As if 2020 isn't bad enough, Mel Gibson is trying to ruin Santa for you.
