Denis Villeneuve has never made a bad film. In fact, everything he touches is excellent. DV Dune is potential gold.

Gah! I'm trying to avoid watching/hearing anything about Villeneuve Dune before it comes out.

One good thing about covid closing theatres is no trailers.

+1, wish box office would reflect that as well. But it doesn't.

Everyone, go see it, so he can at least finish first books in sequel.

That's a good sign tbf. The box office is for the marvel crowd to whoop and holler.

The cinema is now like politics. Chose your brand, vote/go see it no matter how shit it is.

The casting makes me feel so old it hurts.

    Hoping it's actually good though.

Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves for slaughter.

Shame they had to go against the Bene Gesserite plans and cast Paul as a male.

Its silly to say this about a remake/adaptation, but i found it quite spoilerific.

Great supporting cast, main character doesnt hold a candle to Kyle MacLachlan. Maybe ill be surprised, who knows.
I matebate to David lynch but to say his dune movie isn’t trash is lunacy

    Butthole
Hard disagree. David Lynch's Dune is amazing.
David Lynch doesn't even like David Lynch's Dune.

It wasn't bad, it was acceptable.

Nah, I rather enjoyed Ad Astra. Honestly my only complaint I can actively remember is that the crew of the ship going to Lima was originally reticent to go into an SOS civilian station but went full murder mode on Brad Pitt at a word from the tower, was out of character for them and a very lazy way to get him onto the ship solo.

Thank fuck that lunatic never got to rape the Dune stories. Tons of wonderful ideas that fuel sci-fi Hollywood to this day but the movie itself would have been horrible.

I caved and watched it. I love DV, fucking beyond hyped for this. The visuals fit what I imagined with his style. Everyone looks like they fit their roles so well. Fucking out a day before my birthday. Quite an upgrade from Last Jedi coming out that time of year in 2019.

Fuck me its so faf away feeling now.
