edit -wolverine is alright bit rushed and takes huge liberties with the source again, kickass 2 comic left a sour taste in parts haven't seen the film yet.

I've seen all of these fairly recently. No spoilers but the opinions below might colour your expectations going in, so maybe read it afterwards.

Elysium was alright and I enjoyed it, but it didn't resonate with me at all. I think it had some scripting issues and Matt Damon's character is kind of a dick that you don't really care about till right at the end.

Red 2 was dumb but not in a way that made up for how boring it was.

Wolverine was alright popcorn fair; the villains are crap, some of the scenes make no sense and the film is largely forgettable, but it's not particularly offensive in any way.

Kick Ass 2 is fucking awful. It's probably the worst film I've seen all year and i don't say something like that lightly. The script is terrible, the editing is terrible and the direction is worse. They've so failed to capture the humour and feel of the first film that it's painful to watch and you can tell something is wrong within 20 seconds of the first word being spoken. It makes the first film look subtle.

I have an ever growing list of downloaded films i haven't watched yet and now awards season is getting closer, a bigger list with all the films i've missed from this year.

was ok, nothing of what really made the first one special though. I actually quit watching about 75% of the way through because I was bored.

I'll tempter my last post with this, I'd happily take 100 oblivions or enders games over yet another reboot or sequel or prequel. And it's Tom Cruises name that sometimes brings these none franchise films to production - so, thank you Tom Cruise.

Oblivion was surprisingly not bad imo. Especially if one assumes that the plot writers decided from the start to not even bother trying and just see how many sci-fi plots they could cram into one movie.

Just finished watching it about 5 minutes ago. I enjoyed it, Hit Girls over the top reactions were entertaining to watch. I'd say this film was on par with the first which isn't really common among sequels so if you enjoyed watching Kick Ass I don't think you'll be dissapointed with kick Ass 2.

That tomorrows Edge looks interesting, but not particularly interested in Godzilla, loads of people on my facebook feed are putting up the trailer but it just doesn't jump out at me. I didn't really care for pacific rim though and a lot of people seemed to love that film so I guess i'm just not a big monster movie fan.

Thank you Pacefalm I have had a particularly busy week this week to the extent that I actually forgot what day it was, and I completely forgot the second part of the Hobbit was out. I have a 3 day weekend this week so will be kicking it off watching that, now to just make it through Thursday...
