    Re: Vagabond

these days most people go one nano in low or a damage control if in gang with scimis.

because there is so many instalocking faggot gangs this is often a smarter idea than the neut when solo and you get more dps at range:

Drop a LSEII to a F-S9 and you can use slot 6 for something good.

This, I fly the f-s9 and use a speed implant usually.

Tip for vag-on-vag action: Always load barrage for damage-type (50% kin) and range. If you're using the low-ehp setup (no DCII, no nano, polycarbs), and you're fighting a higher-ehp (e.g. DCII + extender rigs) they'll try to close but you can kite out and they'll typically be sacrificing range (and loading short-range ammo), if you're equally fit, well, that's why you best be running a good damage implant set.
I tried to be cool and all I got was a lousy warning about my sig being too big.

Don't have eft on me, how much better is tracking on that fit compared to mine. Faloff difference?

    Re: Vagabond

you dont need that much tracking, you need dps at range. also no EFT atm, but dps difference at 25km is going to be a lot more than 30.

    Re: Vagabond

Personally go for the first fit but swapping a gyro to a DC II.

I like the fact that the Vaga has a variety of fits that are almost equivalent, but can be tailored to you. I like the DC fit as it seems to give me enough EHP left after I decide to GTFO, had mine in structure too many times to trust myself to judge correctly with only paper behind the shield buffer.

    Re: Vagabond

I feel really uncomfortable flying vaga without at least 1 nano or poly rigs. I hate how crap the base agility is, feel like I may as well be flying a hurricane

Also imo always use f-s9 extender instead of an implant, much more useful things to have in slot 6

    Compared to a 3 gyro + 220 fit it looks like you're trading 80 (570vs489) dps

vs. a 3gyro/2te fit you lose 7km of falloff on shortrange and 12km of falloff on barrage in addition to the raw DPS.

It's really, really, really not worth it.

The vagabond shines ~at range~, and imo should be fit for full on killing, rather than "EHP"

I fly minimal tank (F-s9/LSE II + 2x Polycarb, No DC) and make sure I'm careful about what I fight.

    Re: Vagabond

Been experimenting with this, not flown the cookie cutter one enough to compare though. Is it a terribad fit? Idea is to swap the 2nd LSEII for an invuln to free up some grid for 425s, the bonus is better range, a bit smaller sig and better balanced resists, vs a tradeoff for slightly lower EHP (26k vs 27k iirc) and worse tracking.

Seems ok for me tbh, I only really burst the MWD, and if I do need to run it for a while it can go a fair few cycles from memory. I should probably mention though that I mainly use it in lowsec, and occasionally in wormholes. Not tried it in null yet at all.

What's with all the T2 MWDs people keep posting on set ups? afaik named is better for the Vaga since you're (ideally) running the micro more often than not plus its tight in PG as is.

I dunno tbh, I'm normally a big user of Y-Ts over T2, not sure how the T2 found it's way onto that fit (taken from my last lossmail) I probably fit it up in a hurry.

edit: Other downside ofc is that you can't fit a med neut on this fit afaik.

originally had 180s for tracking frigs but feel more comfortable keeping range and matching transversal on frigs.

    2746m/s (3912m/s hot)
    428dps (480dps hot)
    27812 ehp

with a zors,cy-1,ay-1 the mwd speed is 2984 (4210) which seems plenty fast enough.

Smallest guns and no gyros/TEs means your dps is shit and upgraded onboard scanners mean your probe launcher is not that usefull in most cases where you would have used one, so no.

This has less eHP than nano + CDFE fit (1500-2500 eHP iirc, depending on which damage type you look) while having the exact same speed/agility. Also a bit less shield recharge

You're comparing a non PG4 fit with a PG4 fit. Still need a F-S9 on your fit without the PG4. Then the difference is 1k EHP.

The sig is actually relevant and means that a drake will take down an extender fit vaga quicker than a poly one despite it having more EHP, this is still true if you get extra ehp going with a PG4 since the poly fit will be getting extra speed mitigation from the CY-1.

Add that to the fact that poly fit is slightly faster and more agile than the nano fit I know which one I prefer. Though I do agree being able to regen more of your buffer can be helpful for warping in and out of a fight.
