AHARM started a blog, mostly for BRs that might not be big enough to throw in places like this. http://dontshootx.blogspot.com/

This a BR of a small skirmish, no fighting against the odds or WH takeover involved. So if that seems boring to you please skip over it. Video at the bottom.

We brought one of our new members into our WH the other day and one of our guys went about teaching him how to scout.

Our new member (now referred to as scout) finds a somewhat active WH controlled by Covenant of the Phoenix Alliance that are doing runs from their WH -> C1 -> C1 -> HS. We have a connection to that last C1 before HS ourselves.

We gank one of their drakes making that trip. All goes quiet, no response. About an hour later they go ratting in one of the C1s with 2 tengus and a fe rox and our new guy messes up a bit and is detected (his jump was heard). We have to make a scramble to try to get in position and our force (of 2) is likewise detected by that same Drake pilot returning from HS with a new fully stabbed Drake, boo.

They have 4-8 that we know of so 2 of us change up to tengus and we leave the scout in place in a ship that won't help during the fight if there is one (think it was a bomber). Scout reports that they're sending a bait drake through with a sac and hurricane in tow. We also get a report that a vagabond and rapier just showed up on dscan from the HS. With at least 5 of them and one of them being a rapier we feel they're probably willing to engage our 2 tengus.

We first engage on the WH they have the bait sitting on but they actually want to pull us to a planet and we happily oblige. Scout reports a prophecy bringing the total up to 6 v 2 (but we're in boosted T3s vs T2s and BCs).

Fight starts for real with their rapier decloaking and webbing one of our tengus. We're able to dispatch it before any real dps is placed on the tengu and with the biggest threat off the field we can fly a bit more freely now. Their vagabond is able to warp off as we haven't moved into position to gain a point so we kill the sac instead. The drake and prophecy decide to run at that point but we're able to catch and kill the cane.

BR is a bit screwed up, remove the proteus and nighthawk from our side and the drake kill from theirs (thats the drake gank I referred to earlier).

Video is here (it has a bit of no risk WH fight at the beginning to show the setup):

    Rape

Also, xanral, well done for non-retarded flying, would have been cool if you'd been able to fully capitalise and point more. With such good intel, why not dive in for the recon & vaga kills?
    Fucking OP tengus

http://narwhals.eve-kill.net/?a=kill...ll_id=11523711 shows slightly better odds for Narwhals. But 24 logis vs ~35 dps ships? Not sure why they tried if they had a choice about that 12bil of ships.

Thanks, we only had intel on one of their entry points as 1/3 of their team came from HS which we didn't have a watcher at that time. If we had known that was it we probably would have gone for stuff more in the overtanked T2/BC department and brawl it out 2 v 6 as that would make for a more exciting fight. That was actually the first somewhat serious fight where we've used 2 tengus and shows we have some work to do. As for the rest, yeah we got the recon (rapier was close enough to be pointed by the other tengu) but missed the vaga as both of us didn't want to be close to what could be a 4+ web rapier (it was an armor rapier but was 2 web 2 point).

I will have a battle report up for the NCdot/Noir. versus Narwhals fight in the next day or so, in the meantime to tide you over: I offer you a different battle report.

An alliance PvE Carrier fleet announced hostiles in their wormhole. They tried to disengage, but the sleepers kept some of the fleet pointed, so the call was made for them to stay on grid in the site.

Moments later, a Lead Farmers fleet landed in the site with them and began the attack.

We had about 6-7 Tengu in the site with the carrier, as well as a Maelstrom and Nightmare, but they were dealing with incoming sleeper damage from an escalated site as well, so time was of the essence. The carrier was tanking them, but the had brought a Bhaalgorn onto the field so the carrier pilot knew his capacitor run time was very limited.

The Lead Farmers fleet was comprised of a Bhaalgorn, two Loki, a Legion, a Proteus, an armor Tengu (lolwut?), an Absolution, two Deimos, and three Guardians. A response fleet was formed up on the wormhole, comprised of whatever shield ships we had laying around, including several PvE fit Tengu, BC, HAC, Recons and a lone armor Bhaalgorn.

We had no logistics, but were hoping the Chimera would be able to keep us up against their fleet. We were given the order to jump in and warp to the carrier, and landed on the grid. Our falcon and a curse warped with the fleet and were destroyed almost immediately.

    http://narwhals.eve-kill.net/?a=kill...ll_id=11462777

The Chimera was already in triage, and the Tengu were working on reducing the incoming sleeper dps. The FC begins calling primaries, but the opposing guardians were on top of their reps. The hostile fleet targeted our Bhaalgorn as soon as it landed on grid, and though the carrier pilot tried to save him, he exploded.

    http://narwhals.eve-kill.net/?a=kill...ll_id=11462726

Lesson of the day: Don't bring armor tanked ships to a shield fleet.

Our FC started rotating the primary around, to try to get their guardians to slip up, but they were doing a great job keeping the hostile fleet in the fight. The FC saw the Bhaalgorn was taking damage from the sleepers in the site,so the order was given to overheat our weapons to beat their reps, and he quickly melted under the combined fire.

    http://narwhals.eve-kill.net/?a=kill...ll_id=11462775

We continued to trade fire, moving our primary around, to keep the pressure up on their guardians, manage to burn down their Absolution before the Guardians could get reps on him.

    http://narwhals.eve-kill.net/?a=kill...ll_id=11462809

The Carrier was about to come out of triage, all but the last of the sleepers were dead, so the rest of the Tengu fleet could focus on the fight. Our Bhaalgorn pilot reshipped to a Phantasm, and rejoined the fray, only to explode once again.

    http://narwhals.eve-kill.net/?a=kill...ll_id=11462839

He was just not having a good day.

We are slugging it out with them, when our carrier pilot calls out that he is exiting triage. The FC calls for us to spread our points around as the hostile fleet tried to disengage. We managed to catch a Deimos, and their Loki.

    http://narwhals.eve-kill.net/?a=kill...ll_id=11462772

They fled the field, we looted all the wrecks and some "GF"s were exchanged in local, and moved the PvE fleet to safety, collapsing the wormhole behind us.

Ah yes. The armor ECM Tengu. It was our first real engagement using one I think... and well, as we've all agreed, it may not be on par with the falcon for jam strength, but it ain't dead either.

Landing on the grid and seeing DUCKS ticker was a bit of a confusing moment too. We've pretty much gone with the fact that the scout 'neglected' to tell us, just so that we'd get some PvP. Hell of a fun fight, so props to you guys o7.

The only thing worse than pos bashing is watching footage of one.

Actually I far rather watch a POS bash happen in 30 seconds than make one happen in 3 hours.

No huge battle report, mostly because there wasn't a battle, but we just finished wiping Firebird Squadron's home system clean. Loot still needs to be counted up, but we did manage to hit them before they could clear out all their hangars, and got a fairly significant haul of T3 production stuff and whatnot. They spent a day or so self destructing ships, including an archon and a Revelation. We also managed to get some great deals on a couple of Bhaalgorns and a few T3s.

Looking forward to the patch day, player owned customs offices should be a great extortion tool...

Yeah, they never fought us, also, they are generally jerks in local, plus they dishonored a ransom of a corpmember.
