The thing that is dumb about number talk is that 40 solaces on a T3 is some 21k DPS repped. It's a relevant number when you think of the kind of engagements this thread is sometimes about.

There has been virtually no number talk about Guardians repping T3s, which you seem to refer to above. But generally speaking, if you look at numbers in wh-space, a more relevant number tends to be the rep on key assets like Bhaalgorns, which are often faction/officer fit and can match the resists on T3 (although obviously on a fatter sig). A lot of these battles come down to triage carriers which are optimum for helping a fleet hit above its weight (and can perform extra logistic/refitting tasks as well), and so a lot of the battles revolve around capacitor issues.

Although there have been examples of 0.0/LS style logistic groups (e.g. in some of NATO's larger fleets against the Russians), generally the prevailing form of rep in most engagements in wormhole space tends to be the triage carrier.

Only for big-scale/home-turf stuff, plenty of 1-15 man pew used to happen with just paired/few logi ships. Mostly because caps are so powerful and you need to then have & risk assets like bhaalgorns/neut legions to counter them (ships/fits that are somewhat less useful in average fights), the dps of such a mix of recons, T3s & t1 BCs/BSs won't break through alone. Plus the mass limitations, and taking the fight to people to get pew.

True, though he quoted "40 solace reps", which presumably means ~8-10 Guardians. That's more C5/C6 stuff, where the triage carrier is a very dominant asset. In the smaller stuff yes, a few paired logi ships are definitely great - and I'm sure there are some groups out there where a stressed, overworked logi hero is dualboxing logis while his gang scream at him to hurry up and get the show on the road

Off topic a bit here (this a thread about numbers now right?).

Something happened that made me giggle last night. After skirmishing with an alliance in our static C2 who were trying to collapse a high sec WH, we gave up killing them as they posed up. I camped the high-sec for a while in my huggggggin on the off-chance the loki that docked up highsec-side came back in. He did, de-cloaked 6k off WH so I started shooting him. He sat at zero speed. My buddies warped in and melted his ship ridiculously fast (armour PVE Loki with scrub guns and t2 tank http://kb.sotek-eve.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=2571).

I sensed the retard was strong in this one, so demanded 100mil to leave the WH. He gave me 150. At this point I'm rolling around on the floor cackaling like a madman, I offer to escort his Orca while he collapsed the WH with the full intention of blowing it up, my buddies point out this would make me a massive douchebag so I look sheepishly at the floor and stop being mean.

Being a poor space pilot tho I do the whole 'we sell blue standings for just 500mil thing' (yeahrite). His was response was 'We all-ready paid the K162 alliance and they back stabbed us by blowing us up when we invaded a C1'

    I lolled.

Hmm, I don't remember those guys. but they sound dumb enough to have mistaken us for someone else. Also, we just sell people POS safety, not blues, which does seem to confuse people a lot. According to our KB, we did wipe out a fleet of theirs though, so who knows...

For reference, on a GOOD day for logi in most holes i've been in (friendly, or hostile) theres been MAYBE 2 scimis.

Buffertanked T3s with no logis in brawlmode is how real men PvP, right?... Wait, crap, thats how silly buggers pvp. oh well, its still fun.

Do you know the really epic fights? The ones where each action you make, the smallest decisions of the FC's or performance of pilots effects the overall outcome of the fight?

Well we just had one of those yesterday. Props go to Quebec United Legions for "good fight" award of the month. Initially, they tried to derp-trap us in their homesystem with a cloaked carrier we promptly de-cloaked. It jumped sending the hole crit, with AHARM following in behind in hope of PvP.

The fight lasted an hour, and on balance I think we lost. If we had kept the moros neuted we probably wouldn't have lost the carrier, if the carrier hadn't gone back into triage when it was moving straight towards the dreads, it probably wouldn't have died, if the carrier had a better tank... etc etc.

Basically, great work by the hostile Nighoggur for keeping most of his fleet alive, which we couldn't cap out with 2 Bhaalgorns we managed to bring through the hole.

Yep, I thought the notion that we drop good loot was widely established?

True, although their Nag was of equivalent value according to the KM. We popped our carrier wreck and looted their Nag, which would have put us ahead in the isk war- except for our Bhaalgorn loss which for some reason isn't showing up.

This is all totally missing the point as far as I'm concerned. What we had was a right ding-dong scrap with an uncertain outcome, which could have gone either way right until then end. Big up to the Quebec guys, they didn't flinch or back down like most people have done recently. Looking forward to the next time.

Ah yeah, I didn't notice he'd gone pretty pimp on the nag too.

Your killboard underestimates the true value of the Archon by more than a billion isk.

Aside from that looks like it was a fun fight and props to both sides for bringing it (although vagabond is an interesting choice for a brawling ship).

Yeah, I think our KB must have an ego massage module online or something - I thought it looked cheap bearing in mind our CEO was the pilot!

Things went down very quickly, it may well be the Vaga pilot was in the same situation as me - it was a case of jumping out in whatever ship I happened to log on in, or miss the action completely. Luckily my alt was already in a dps Proteus.

It wasn't their home system, it was a C2 that some of the Narwhals guys live in. It looks like Noir. got spanked, not sure what the current status is.

Oh, that's not as amusing as I hoped it would be.
