I know PL used to demand their pilots all bring x-instinct boosters for ABHAC gangs and take them at particular moments so yes it does happen on a big scale.

We still strongly urge people to bring boosters for different fleets, like Drop for sniper tier3s and Mindflood/X-Instinct for logis, and most do. The bonus you get is simply too good to pass on in certain situations. All boosters are privately funded though, but we try to get bulk deals for the alliance so we can seed our markets.

It's the Serpentis home region. I dunno what the precise lolrp reason is, but it's at least consistent with Curse also having word-based constellation names. Since Angels and Serpentis are so closely aligned.

I don't think there's a reason other than Angels have names that invoke spirituality (for lack of a better word) and Serpentis have animals from Greek mythology. Serpens or Serpentis is the name of a real life constellation which are often named after mythological characters.

2. Having a bunch of drones around a gate 12-15km to keep cloakers from cloaking is ok as long as it is not so many it causes lag? Just want to be sure before me and my guys start doing what I see of a lot in low sec these days.

The amount that is ok varies greatly per GM, also the response of exceeding this non documented per GM level vary per GM from just removing em to bans...

2. Pretty sure they relaxed a load of that crap as long as it doesn't appear to cause lag. Like the bullshit with 40+ bubbles being 'ok'. Although it appears to be inconsistent so you may face some petition aggro until a senior clears it up? Personal recommendation, dont be a bad and rely on bs manipulation of rules but meh... you will probably get away with it if its not inducing server strain.

I'm training up a T3 booster alt, and I was wondering if I can just give random incursion runners boosts in return for getting the payouts of their fleets. Alternatively, if you have to be on-grid to get paid, is it a common practice to charge for boosting?

No, and not as far as I know. You have to be in fleet and on grid when the Incursion is completed (there's a message that pops up) to get the bounty payout. The LP comes after the final mothership spawn has been cleared. Your reward for being in fleet is the ISK itself. This is how high sec pick up groups work as of last year anyway, but different rules may apply in low and null.

I think one of the most useful things you can do with an alt during incursions in high sec is to scout out the next site when it spawns to see if it is still empty. It chews up a lot of time warping from one acceleration gate to another only to find another group has beated you to it. You can always go head to head and challenge them for the payout (the high sec incursion version of PvP) but that is only worth doing if you warp in at about the same time.

You need to be on grid at the site, inside gates so link ships don't get incursion isk. Some fleets are willing to pay per hour for the links.

The booster doesn't get payouts, but enables to you swap one logi for a DPS meaning higher ISK/hr

You can alter hair, eyes, tattoos, clothes, etc. but you can't alter the facial structure or body figure.

SO how does one copy window settings across to other logins?

nvm, here it is:
Do this...

Go to C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_progra m_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings

You'll see a char_########.dat and a user_########.dat, to do this you need to know what character and user you want to export settings from (only important if you have multiple accounts and/or characters). The easiest way is to copy all that stuff to a different folder and then delete it all from the settings folder (create a backup). Now log in to that character and go back to settings. You'll only have one char_ and one user_ in there. Now go to the settings and copy those back in place so you have your settings back.

So now for some examples. You current know that you want to "export" the settings from char_1.dat and user_1.dat and "import" them to char_2.dat and user_2.dat

Take char_1.dat and user_1.dat and copy them to another folder again, but don't delete the originals this time. Now rename them both to char_2.dat and user_2.dat, now copy them back into your settings folder, overwriting any XXX_2.dat files already in place.

Now when you log onto that character it will have the exact same settings, channels and mailing lists, overview, etc as char_1 does. Everything that is stored locally will move over (that is to say, everything minus say, bookmarks, which are stored server side). If you want to "export" your settings for a friend just give him these files and have him rename them to his char and user ID and he will be able to "import" your settings, just be aware that he'll be in whatever channel you are in currently (password protected anyway, if he's not in the same corp the server still won't let him connect to your corp channel).

Edit: and to point out the obvious, if you want to backup your settings, just copy this folder to a safe place, if it ever gets messed up, copy it back.

An easy way to tell which user and char file to copy FROM.

Log in to eve with the good settings char., sort that folder by date modified, recent on top.

The one on top is your CURRENT one. (afaik)

CONFIRMING THIS JUST WORKED FOR ME.

Copy the GOOD file, paste it either there or in a new folder, rename it to that of the one you wish to replace. done.

Back to leadership for a second.

Who exactly needs to have the leadership skills? Specifically, if I am wing commander and revoke booster and add it to somebody else, who needs the skills to validly control the wing?


Generally, i have been under the impression that the booster AND the WC would need enough skill (i.e. for a five-squad wing, both the "real" WC in the hierarchy and the "Wing Booster" elsewhere in the fleet would need WC V)

Any confirmation on exactly how this is passed? In the cynabal thread recently it was implied that so long as the guy slotted in the hierarchy had the right skills, anybody could boost.
