EVE once was about internet spaceships. Then those became serious business.
Now all that is left is serious business, and spaceships are docked for two years till after the Dust of Incarna.
Sadly. Theres a character called egg who has done nothing for years, and I really want the character name ;(

wormholes... which is the 'heirachy' of wormhole descriptions?
e.g i have a wormholes saying:
"This wormhole is reaching the end of its natural lifetime."
"This wormhole is beginning to decay, and probably won't last another day."
which will end first (and are there other descriptions advertising longer or shorter lifespans)?
edit: copy n paste fail.
I have no idea about WHs but found this on eve wiki
Wormhole Collapse
There comes a time in every wormhole’s life when it will collapse into the ether. Wormholes are inherently unstable, and will eventually collapse. However, wormholes also come in differing varieties of stability and heavy usage of a wormhole can cause it to collapse prematurely. When a show info is done on a wormhole (refer to the picture below), there will be some indications as to how long its remaining lifespan is, as well as whether its stability has been disrupted or not due to the mass of ships traveling through it.
For time collapse:
"Life cycle has not begun" - This means you've found a wormhole just as it is forming, and it will spawn in a minute or two.
"Probably won't last another day" - This is the wormhole's main life, and has over 25% of it's total time remaining.
"Reaching the end of its natural lifetime" - This signifies the wormhole will be naturally collapsing soon, having less than 25% of it's total time remaining. Collapse is imminent.
For mass collapse:
"Has not yet had its stability significantly disrupted" - This indicates the wormhole is still quite stable, and has over 45% of its total allowable mass left.
"Has had its stability reduced, but not to a critical degree yet" - This means the wormhole has seen a decent amount of travel, and has less than 45% of its total allowable mass left.
"This wormhole has had its stability critically disrupted by the mass of numerous ships passing through and is on the verge of collapse." - This means exactly what it says. The wormhole has had most of its total allowable mass used up, and has less than 5% left. Collapse is imminent.

Will do it, I didn't realize it wasn't there. Thanks.
forteh's eve-wiki thing is accurate. The blurb on the completely fresh wormhole is something like 'this wormhole has not yet started its cycle of life and will last at least another day', but you'll almost never see it unless you're the first to warp to the wormhole (and it'll remain that way only for a couple minutes).Originally Posted by Shiodome
so what is the life of a WH? info on it being a % of it's lifetime left is no good if i don't know it's lifetime.

You can't tell exactly when the cycle of any given wormhole started though, unless you saw the wormhole start its lifecycle or transition to end of lifetime. In the latter case, you generally have 2-3 hours of safe travel before it's best to wait for a new wormhole.
I wonder if I can say Ferox on this forum without the word filter protecting you all from the sheer horror of it.
