Quasar m8. Take it super serious like a military exercise so she can see how macho you are.

I'm assuming you've already thought about the cinema or a concert... and want something more activity related? Maybe you have a zoo in the vicinity you can visit? Gives you something to talk about while walking around. Is there something like an escape room activity thing around where you live?

There's a falconry centre nearby I'd forgotten about actually. Not sure if they operate during the winter but I'll take a look.

Might just end up taking the dogs out for a walk in the local woods, I'd just like to have something actually do though like a picnic but it's winter. I should've waited til spring to start seeing her and made it easier for myself I'll see her tonight at badminton and gauge her interest.
Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves for slaughter.

As long as it's not raining and you bring proper gear (blankets and warm soup, etc) you can still do a picnic!

Nowhere nearby unfortunately. Unless we went to Milton Keynes and made a day of it with some other stuff but it seems a bit early for that. I still think I've struck too early after her last relationship and I'm cautious about giving her the impression I'm hurrying her into something.
Come visit there's a ton of stuff to do here :3

Xscape (indoor snowboarding etc), safari park (woburn), Silverstone, lakes, etc.

Woods are a bit creepy for date #2 imo but w/e works

In the end I had to block her on Facebook and email. 5 years ago since I heard anything of her and that was from a mutual acquaintance.

Guys....she reached out to me....yes I caved when she called for the 4th time, but when she explained everything, I completely understood. Even her mom called me to explain.

Details will be forthcoming...we are not totally out of the woods just yet but it's happening.

This actually because the gf got scared. She thought she wasn't good enough for me and that I would judge her for her personal problems.

Again...more details soon. She needs to work some things out. I'm giving her some time. At least we are talking daily.

Which is fine. I am focused on my cycling training and cleaning out my house from 21-years of shit accumulated from marriage.

Good for you. I hope you sort it out.
Word of caution tho. There are things to notice in how a person reacts and acts when freaking out like that. They may do things that in other circumstances would be a defining moment to the end of a relationship. These are not acts planned or thought through. Reflexive reactions are the hardest ones to change about one self.
Unless you can suppress or in other ways come to terms that "this was how she reacted when [Something Special] happened" you should think it all over more than twice and avoid getting caught up in the fuzzy bliss feelings of getting "back to normal or better".
Not saying it to be a killjoy or dickhead, just a word of caution. Take more time than you think you need to mull it all over.

And seriously, hope it all works out.
Trust me...I learned alot about myself throughout this ordeal...and I am sure she learned about herself as well. We are both hot messes. I totally apologized to her for my reactions to all of this and she completely understood and forgave me. She said she never lost any feelings for me from this...she promised me that.

Our daily interaction is getting alot better. I think she is close to dealing with her demons.

We might see each other for lunch on Monday. It won't mean we are back 100% but it's a step in the right direction.

It's not really a "dick move" if you're withholding key details mate.

Let's hope Jolin leverages the 'i need to sort out my drink problems at rehab' speech into a not-getting-fired outcome.
    Contract stuff to Seraphina Amaranth.

Wasn't quite sure if being snarky at first, but I felt it's just in my head

The only way I'd get the help I actually wanted for the first time is if my workplace made it a requisite to keeping my job (although just getting fired is much much more likely, considering it's a repeat offense). Mom had a justifiably shouting fit at me today and I reiterated that I clearly need help and some rehab and her reaction was "rehab? counseling? Addicted people don't lie to get money they need to buy drinks! This is not what addiction is! If you really wanted to get better, you'd just decide to stop doing it and stop! Counseling is just a bunch of retards sitting around telling you it wasn't your fault". It continued in that vein for 10 mins. I had forgotten that my mom was an expert in addiction and counseling.

Because mom thinks rehab and counseling is a bunch of hokey? Because she thinks addicts need to just grow a pair and use their will power to stop being self-destructive? Because she doesn't believe anything can be achieved by a visiting a psychiatrist/being a group of of like minded people trying to get over addiction, telling you things will be ok?

And finances too in the sense that she isn't going to spend anything on a waste of money like "rehab" when I could just use my willpower and just stop drinking.

Don't take this the wrong way, because I mean well and I want you to get better. But: grow a pair and don't let your decision to go to rehab be made by your mother. I hope you have your own nest egg you can use for the cost; I'm assuming the Indian health care system doesn't cover it from your replies so far.

I can't, because I have been giving 90% of my money to my mom till date. Any nest egg I might have had is in her hands now.
