Try linking a panoptic mirror with a time warp. You can get the timewarp back through a mnemonic wall if required.

    Re: tragic : the gathering

So i have played this a bit (a lot) ages ago, i was using blue/green deck of counter spells and some shit. For no particular reason i would like someone, who is up to date, to find me names for some card (as i just wasted 30 minutes searching for them on websites trying) to recreate my deck:
    1) I recall having counterspell snakes creatures, that you could play as an instant,
    2) I recall having magic immune green creatures, who looked like big cameleons amushing treehouses and eating people on art,

    Can someone help me ;x
Also, my second and last deck was red/black super burn control deck, is it any good anymore?

The snake you're thinking of is Mystic Snake. Maybe Blastoderm is the 2nd?

    Green cards with shroud

Yeah, Blastoderm is the card he's thinking of. Oddly enough, this was the last T2 deck I put together IRL when I was still doing PTQ's. I think I still have it around somewhere.

    Re: tragic : the gathering

used to play this a bit years back when I was flatssharing with some other dudes we used to have pretty epic matches lasting for hours heh.

We allowed all cards so unglued and unhinged were allowed in moderation ofc and good fun tended to be had by all...

Had a cat deck from that cat expansion that came out which could be insane if you got certain cards out and would rip through people, also had an angel deck and I ended up making a wierd deck that had some odd mechanic to it that made me kinda untouchable will need to dig it out to see if I can remember what I did with it...

The latest unhinged set was a lot of fun, I remember buying a few boosters just to see what kind of hilarious mechanics they could come up with. Came with some really nice artwork on the Land cards.

Now say, if there was a player who stopped paying attention to this game after the Scourge block, what would you say has been changed and added since then?

    Re: tragic : the gathering

    Whats new since Scourge block?

    - New card type, Planeswalker: a permanent that you can use once every turn, they have loyalty (some sort of lifepoints of their own) that you can choose to go up or down, depending on abilities. Attackers can choose to attack the planeswalker or the defending player. Some of them are really ridiculous, like the 80+$ Jace, the Mind Sculptor.
    - New card type, tribal. For example, there are sorceries that count as a goblin. Not used in later sets anymore.
    - New rarity - Mythic. Which are six times as rare as normal rares, and if they are tournament playable, they are really silly expensive (see Jace, Tarmogoyf, Baneslayer, Primeval Titan, Vengevine, etc). Helps Wizards sell packs I guess, but instead of buying a standard tournament deck, some people would rather buy a car or something.
    - Hybrid Mana; For example for r/g you can pay either R or G.
    - Colored artifacts
    - the power creep is rampant, creatures nowadays are much stronger than they used to be. Creatures either have no abilities and have more power/toughness than casting cost (1 Mana 3/3, 3 Mana 5/4s are nothing special), or they have some sort of "when ~ comes into play" ability.
    - Current counterspells suck a lot. Kids nowadays don't like having their spells countered.

Other than that, not really much. Game is still fun to play casually with friends, despite all of the above. Especially cube drafting, that's awesome.

Delurking in MtG topic, oh boy, I suck -.-

    Re: tragic : the gathering

there are no massive rule changes tbh, you can still pick it up and play if you've played it before

each expansion has its own rule

zendikar = AWESOME = landfall (triggers when a land comes into play) http://magiccards.info/zen/en/178.html, level up (you can level up your doods) http://magiccards.info/roe/en/47.html, kicker (pay additional mana to get a bonus effect) http://magiccards.info/zen/en/125.html

    worldwake = moar zendikar

rize of eldrazi = big fuck off monsters

scars of mirrodin = metalcraft (triggers when you have 3 or moar artifacts) http://magiccards.info/som/en/154.html, infect (deals poison to players and -1/-1 to creatures) http://magiccards.info/mbs/en/52.html

plainswalkers are the only new card type http://magiccards.info/zen/en/120.html

equipment is an artifact you place on a creature and when the creature dies the artifact stays in play so you can put it on something else http://magiccards.info/dpa/en/94.html

there are loads more quirks but those are the current ones and the core rules never change tbh

Well, removing mana burn from the game was pretty significant if you're an old skool player.

I use OCTGN with my friends. It's a generic card game framework, but someone quite helpfully create a M:tG ruleset, uploaded a massive load of cards, and packaged it all nicely: OCTGN w/ MtG Cards. You can create your own card sets; it's a pita, but possible to do and not too awful once you know how the files all fit together.
