Sorry, I thought everyone who follows this thread recognized the President of the United States' helicopter transport unit of the United States Marine Corps.
it was a general comment, but it's good practice.

Danish Army AS-550 Fennec w/HeliTOW system mounted, turning the light utility helicopter into a dedicated tank-hunter, it's a significantly lighter system than the all-up equipment associated with the Air Cobra gunships and seen used on AH-7 Lynx choppers in British service.

it's still in inventory, though no longer actively fitted, it reduces the carrying capacity of the helicopter from crew+4 to crew+2 and they mostly see service as surveillance and special forces transports today.

not everybody needs a 12 ton helicopter to build a credible tank-hunter.

considering expected Opfor was expected to be the east german army with significant soviet support when the plans for those where laid in 1988, that says more about your kit than ours m8.

ah yes, those things, with cathode ray tube electronics and attendant reliability and ground clutter problems.

that's not to say it would not have been a threat of course, but the army had a rather large, albeit old fashioned artillery train precisely to handle that sort of problem if encountered.
