Yesterday the UK MOD signed a £1.4 Billion deal with Boeing to supply 14 MH-47G Chinooks.

The UK is the first international customer of the upgraded block 2 - SF - model and the only operator outside the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment USAF to operate them.

Over a hundred mil for a chinook? Even with all the running maintenance and ordnance (lel) it's ludicrous, Mi-26T goes for about 30 and T2V i wouldn't put above 50 and that's a class higher.

You can't compare the price from a single engine chopper designed in soviet era with two engine chopper special design. up-to-date engine and avionics.

"The MH-47G Special Operations Aviation (SOA) version is currently being delivered to the U.S. Army. It is similar to the MH-47E, but features more sophisticated avionics including a digital Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS). The MH-47G also incorporates all of the new sections of the CH-47F."

And I believe training maintenance and spare parts are are a big slice from the price.
