I'm approaching 800 hours here. Not sure how that happened...

And still only MR13, since I don't spend that much time grinding new toys, but rather focus on perfecting the ones I have trying to push endless survivals and defence runs to new personal limits.
I had forgotten how incredibly tanky Zephyr and Mesa can be.

    This could be interesting.

Altho I am not sure at all about the nightmare-like random modes per level that he mentions. That could realy fuck up the enjoyment of the whole thing if you run 5 levels and then suddenly find yourself facing a challenge that just disables the thing that keeps your frame alive at that level of challenge. And it would also potentialy sideline the whole concept of building towards beating higher levels.

Been playing this for the first time in years, I wish it had a level scaling thing for high level players to help lowbies without making the lowbie feel like a passenger, some of my mates have hundreds of hours in this and partying up seems pointless.

Built Saryn for thicc waifu reasons, kinda disgusted at the cash shop prices, but that's why they give you 70% off as a new/returning player

Just get a new frame and weapon and level it up along with them?
Bonus points for not putting the potato in until you're 30.
Take them to the mercury survival.

Considering you can earn premium currency for free, I would hold off the disgust. Its piss easy to earn.
Only thing you have to pay for real money is the player made and Prime Access cosmetics.

If you are talking about the frame you pick at the beginning then Excalibur, though he is easier to get now from the Mars boss.
Mag is now gud thanks to her recent rebalance. Rhino is easy to get from jackal boss from Venus. Volt isn't bad if you want to run fast/do damage to Eidolon's.
If you want to buy a frame, then one of the harder to get ones like Atlas, the punchframe [because Archwing/Eris] or Equinox, the transframe [more parts than other warframes]
or Mesa, the gunslinger frame [need Mutalisk Alad V Coordinates].

Ivara is more commonly used for stealth though loot is her thing too. Nekros is a more reliable form of looting, plus you
you get more from slashing damaging bodies and getting loot from the separate body parts.

Mag was my first frame and still one of my favourites. The bubble queen is awesome!
I never got excal and only recently rhino and volt. Volt is by far the more fun frame of the two, but Rhino is pretty much mandatory for the index framing.

Excal is a good all round frame, able to fit into just about every group. Mag is a fun glass cannon game style, but with her new Augment (mod that changes the way a power works) that disables all enemy weapons for 4 seconds (increased by adding duration) makes her a good CC frame. Volt has a very fun, frenetic playstyle. Almost as well balanced as Excalibur, but more squishy.

Yeah, get Excalibur first; they're all decent frames but Excalibur is the most solid all rounder for starting out with.

Ivara can be a right pain in the arse to get but is a good stealthy frame when you do. She can get bonus loot while running around stealthed.

Nekros is the other (original) "lootframe", and is better at it IMO. It has a lower change per target, but if you build it right you can run it as a passive AoE effect that also makes you bolt hard due to dropping energy and health orbs for everyone everywhere. (And you also end up with unlimited energy, if you keep killing things.)
It also has an awesome tennogen skin; I'm not a fan of the Ivara mushroomhead, which makes it not viable for endgame.

Thanks. did some shit in ceplakalaka plains near the start or whereever (just finished the galleon misson with Hek or Kek or whatever), oh thats it its a shitty glass shards mission- but randoms get partied with me, which im ok with (i dont mind being carried) but damn son, their damage for similar levels is off the charts, and no one seemed in a vanilla body like me!

So a few things i was wundrin
How do you move around as quick as some people do. I see my objective like 600m away, and then suddenly everyone is already there! zipping away escorting a drone, all my sprinting and double jumping dont mean shit just to try to keep up!

And when do i start spending dosh on blueprints and making me some items? im master level 1, Volt is a lvl 20 frame now. im using a mk1 blushit rifle and mk1 scana lorry sword, and stealthy knifeys for my 2ndary.
It seems duel flameswords or wraith swords a a big upgrade? especially as Volt seems very Melee orientated?
But I need polymers and shit, and i dont know if there is a reliable way to get these? I spend most of a mission just looting boxes, enlessly smashing, should i just crack on and loot if its infront of me, rather than checking every nook and cranny?

For moving fast, spam bullet jumps. Run, go into a slide (Ctrl), then jump during the slide. You'll go flying in whatever direction you're aiming. You can also use this to jump very high by aiming up during you slide when you jump.

Most players who aren't just starting will blitz the majority of missions, not stopping to find all the chests to smash. The exception would be the 'endless' mission types - defense, survival, excavation, interception - where you're mostly hanging around the same area most of the time.

Collecting mats - usually the best way to farm those is doing an endless mission in an area that drops those mats (each planet drops 4 different mats). Getting a sentinel and putting the vacuum mod on it makes loot collection way easy, though some consider it a crutch. Eventually you'll have loads of all but the rarest mats. Whatever you do, don't buy mats from the market for plat, that's generally a waste of money.

I'm sick and on phone and forget the rest of your questions, so someone else will need to pick those up.

Also we have a clan, it's called Oracles of Onion (not Orion).

Since no one else has piped up, your other question: when to start buying blueprints. Pretty much whenever you want/can afford to. There are a few weapons you can buy for credits directly from the armoury, I think those are the cheapest new weapons you can get. The mk1 versions are pretty shit, the only benefit of keeping them is to finish leveling them to 30 for mastery points. But honestly there's so many weapons out there for mastery fodder, you might as well ditch them when you can afford to.

Most other weapons you can buy the blueprints from the market for credits. Keep in mind that it costs more credits to actually build them in the foundry, and you'll also need credits to upgrade your mods. There are also some weapons and frames that you can only buy bp's for from the clan labs, which is one of the main advantages of being in a clan.

Other than that, anything Prime you need to farm from void relics by running void fissure missions. Don't worry much about that til you have a good chunk of the starmap unlocked. And there are a few other weapons that only come from certain missions giveaways, etc...

I'll see whether I can invite you too the clan, not sure if I can. We also may be full, which would need one of the officers to kick someone to make room.

Im late, but i dont really like Excal due to the E spam. Volt got buffed recently, and is a good all-rounder.

Currently 50:50 if i continue trying to farm vaulted relics, or take a break. Think ill take a couple months off and see whats changed.

im at 30 with volt, just got to Mars. in process of building archwing. Made myself an Orthos (read that its good for range? though i dont know how much more range it realisticly gives over say twin ether blades?). Not sure which gun to build (primary or 2ndary) so still stuck with mk1 poop. what guns work well? at the moment im all hack and slash (melee primary) with a few zaps here and there.

As i might be keeping the Orthos until it gets primed?- is it worth spending ororirkron catalyst to add more mods, and polarising it so make it cheaper to put mods on? so save my plat? i only have 50 and dont want to buy more at this point.

Whats your MR level now? Im not 100% sure its updated with the last patch, but http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Weapon_Comparison gives you all the info.

Orthos is good, range is significantly higher than bascially any other melee (with a few exceptions), but that really only comes to bear when you fit Reach on it.

In general you should (imo) have one good primary/secondary/melee with Catalyst, then you can start leveling weapons just for the XP.

In the low MR range, the Boltor is a good primary although its not hitscan. A decent low-MR secondary would be Sonicor / Lex / Atomos, i think Sonicor and Atomos need a clan tho (?), and trade aoe for limited range. Theres a lot of good melee weapons in the low-MR range, mostly because melee mods make almost anything viable. Atterax is the meme-y choice, Glaive is fun if you want something different but requires you to catch the right alert, Tipedo is a good alternative to the Orthos since it has better stats in almost everything, except the range.

e: on second thought, i would actually recommend pimping the Tipedo over the Orthos either way, since the Orthos Prime isnt hard to get eventually. Personally i dont really pick melee weapons so much by the stats and more by whether i like the stance. If you dont have any stance mod for a particular melee weapon, its not really worth using it.

So yes, the clan is full. I don't have privileges to boot anyone...

so just finished the quest that unlocks focus's, i have a picked Zenurik as i thought that was best, as i tend to enjoy using frame abilties,

    a few questions though:

how do you gather points for it ?
I notice that on my Ui now there is like a focus symbol in the bottom right corner that appears to gradual fill up, No idea what it does though.

    Any tips ?

Focus lenses. You put them on your warframe and guns (do warframe first if you have a favoured one). You can only do this once they're max rank (30) but once you do a portion of the affinity they would have earned gets turned into focus of the lens type you put on.
    http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Focus_Lens
Once the lens is on, you can't take it off though you can swap it for a different lens. You can forma the warframe/weapon safely too, the lens just does nothing until the item is back at rank 30.

Quest - I assume it was the Second Dream?
If so then you have an interim focus mechanic - the old one. That symbol is basically a timer, once it's done you can press 5 to do funky shit which may or may not be useful. The main upside of it is once you've used it in a mission, you'll get the passive from your focus school for the rest of the mission, or at least that's how it used to work.

    Keep doing the quests.
