I was surprised as well, if figured it was a pretty reasonable thing to have once I read up on what it is for.

I'll dig through the config files, I don't think I've seen one but there could well be one hidden away.

yeh man all dagger, rx, retrofit madness

Gonna learn kotlin when I get a chance though, looks much nicer.

e: Been doing everything ourselves in work in c#... we tend to build our own libraries if we can help it for a lot of the things (understandably because there's not many out there that fit our requirements). At least c# is much nicer than java though :>

In related news, strong proposal for Java to move to a strict 6 monthly release cycle -> https://mreinhold.org/blog/forward-faster

Dunno how I feel about a language being forced to be developed like that.... I'd rather have the next iteration when it's ready, not when some guy in marketing says it's going enough.

New features will be merged only when they’re nearly finished, so that the release currently in development is feature-complete at all times.
Should not be the case if this holds true ^
And what stops the guys in marketing to do the same now?

This is dumb. Latest version of dependency ecosystem isn't sufficiently updated to handle the latest versioning mechanism over the one it just depreciated (which was flagged for 2 years). Keep the old style and you get warnings it's depreciated, use the new and get errors that you haven't used any when trying to check for newer versions.
