    Abaddon

No thread so starting off with boring standard fit:

    [Abaddon, StandardBaddonBooster]

    Large Trimark Armor Pump I
    Large Trimark Armor Pump I
    Large Trimark Armor Pump I

    Hornet EC-300 x5
    Hammerhead II x5

    45km Scorch @ 649 dps (no drones)
    15km INMF @ 938 dps (hammerhead IIs)
165k EHP which is fairly absurd
I tried to be cool and all I got was a lousy warning about my sig being too big.

    Re: Abaddon

MWDless fit to enjoy +20% cap on an energy guzzling ship. Unfortunately resigns the ship to the fate of being close to immobile. (98m/s) Great for stopping others from camping you in and less honourable station faggotry.

    Hammerhead II x1

    Ogre II x1
    Ogre II x1

1232 dps w/ conflag and Ogre mix
1126 dps w/ INMF and Ogre mix
    139kehp

Needs booster to run INMF or conflag. It is capstable with either and booster.
Duel web should definitely allow tracking w/ conflag vs bc+
Mid slots are easy to swap for eccm
If your going to be receiving reps swap a plate for a second eanm, the ehp difference is only 4k and the lowest resist will be 70%

    Re: Abaddon

Having flown the Abaddon a fair bit when I was in Stain I came to love it for short range response when you knew could burn boosters to your hearts content, but one fight was enough to kill the cap.

With the introduction of fits based around the T2 EDE rig it becomes a very different beast if you have pretty much all V cap skills, able to keep firing for extended fights even with a bit of MWD'ing thrown in.

This fits with a KZA1000 3% Turret CPU implant.

better than an armor-tempest in every way ('cept sig, and navigation -.-)
pretty much the same fitting can be used on an apoc to save some money but it'll be a lot less buffer, even without a high amarrBS lvl

    Re: Abaddon

T1 Arties allow for more tank (no ACR needed), may be worth it in lagfights where artybaddons tend to shine.

you can improve it a bit with faction active hardener, 2nd t2 injector and navy boosters etc but I had no screeny of that.

my pvp course is on hold atm until after AT unless you make me an offer I cant resist. sorry

There's no comparison between a pest and a abaddon really. The pest never has that great a tank.

While an apoc also has 8 turrets and lots of lows the terrific survivability of the abaddon is definitely part of the charm here. It's not just the amount of buffer but also the amount repped per guardian rep.

Big buffer + bad resists = ship gets chewed through even with reps on. Better resists = even if it goes down it soaks a feck tonne of DPS first.

Pretty much the perfect ship for guardian + BS fights where alpha is desirable imo.

If you have booster alts a ts scram + mwd is also viable.

With the implants and skills i have the thing has 160k ehp, and 820 dps since i prefer exp damage then thermic. Not heated tank is @ 2058 , with hardeners overheated its at 2460 dps tanked and with everything running like a boss its 3k tank. 16km scram range overheats up to 18.8 for 4 min. A loki and a legion booster are included.

without a web battlecruisers get under your tracking though. and the mwd isnt all that useful on a slow ship like that and hurts your tank

    Re: Abaddon

What size/type of gang would you consider engageable with a solo manly-tank abaddon?
The only time I've tried it was with a triple rep fit, my tank held fine against 6 battlecruisers till I ran out of boosters. The falcons were pretty easy to get rid of, but I couldn't do anything about the swarm of ecm drones, which meant I couldnt hold down any of the bc. That's got me considering dropping a gun for a smartbomb, making up for some of the lost damage by upgrading to moar megapulse.

Ya i was thinking that as well but i never got the chance to really test the bloody thing on the field. Usually people ran or brought a massive blob so i pretty much roam in drakes now days.

dropping a gun really hurts, and I'd prob consider a heavy neut isntead in that case. if you know ppl will blobl you with ECM drones fight under sentries that pops their ecm drones.

6 or so BC are doable, but arty ones can get annoying. 3-4 BS doable also. its pretty neut resistant and can tank for like 1-2min vs 6 heavy neuts or something, but running guns during isnt really an option. prop-less expensive bs are best used for fights on stations/gates so you have a way out or can split off stuff like scorps or neut fagz
