It's a gimmick really. there is almost no discernible difference between a .22 rimfire hollow point and solid round. There is also no such thing as a true FMJ .22 rimfire that I am aware of. ?? Are we talking about the same thing here? Rimfires are bullets that have the priming material poured into the bottom and the hammer strikes the metal where as centerfires have a primer in the center which needs to be struck. .22lr meet the definition of rimfire or am I missing something here?Quote:

Also, copper jackets are only meant to reduce lead fouling in the barrel. They are not intended to contribute to penetration even on the large rounds like a .338 Lapua.

Bought a Ruger 556 today at the local shop. Picked it up for 800 apparently it was on sale. Small little gun shop here in Juneau and he had 10 of them on the rack.
Had an awesome birthday today. Went to the range, and as I was checking in, I saw a Makarov. Inquired after it, bought it. Came with soft pistol rug, 3 magazines, and was $175. It'd been in the store for an hour, hour and a half at most. Bought a few boxes of ammo for it at $5 each, and went to shoot it. The little fucker is snappy, but accurate as hell. Damn.
Guy at the range was firing off some sort of hand cannon, I asked him what it was during a cease fire. It was a Kimber (lolwat) of some model that he put a conversion kit in of 46...4, I think. It could also fire 45s and had a muzzle break (brake? fuck if I know). Was hilariously silly fun. I let him fire off my Makarov, and he also tried my roommate's bolt action pistol (which was also fucking hysterical to see in action).
Spent 2 hours at the range firing my Sig, Makarov, and a few times on the roommate's gun. He got quite a few looks when people realized it was bolt action.

Honestly, "clothing" wont stop any decent round. Wont stop a 9x19(or 9x18). wont stop a .45 either. a. The person was shooting with an extremely light round, possibly also with reduced powder load, maybe even at some silly range.
b. The person plainly and simply missed the target (this is the most usual ones if you are actually in a combat situation, since soldiers in general are literally shit at shooting..)
c. He was using airsoft.
d. He is fucking dumb.

What brands make good Makarov rounds? Wolf sprayed red resin (??) shit all over me, and I got brown and silver bear to try out. It's apparently lacquered (wat). I'm not too worried about dirty rounds, because I clean the hell out of my guns, but still, the cleaner, the better.
