Area dependant of course, but in NC you have to use a .223 or 20/16 gauge on game that size. And yes, you usually can shoot small birds with a .22.

Whats the problem in USA with this, you can get these mags in europe either dirt cheap+milspec metal junk or very good plastic ones like magpul for good prices in practically all shops.
edit:
Since Mags are not regulated at all over here i am sure you can get them shipped to the u.s., we have a german version of pmag/magpul called oa mag, they are really identical and are only ~26$, http://www.waffen-centrale.de/epages...OA-Mag%2030%22
Normally, PMAGs and most other 30rd mags are half that price. $30 is starting to become the norm for magazines due to inflated prices. They're considering a law in Colorado that bans 30rd mags but had to include a manufacturing exemption because MAGPUL is based there and is considering leaving the State of this.
That would leave a large vacuum until they get setup in another State since PMAGs are some of the most sought after magazines by civilians, law enforcement, and the military. They also manufacture the mags for the UK and other bullpups that don't accept PMAGs with their new EMAG design. The UK bought like 1 or 2 million of the things if I remember right. That leaves some really shitty options and only a few other companies that can make decent magazines. USGI aluminum supplies have dried up and only a few batches are trickled out each year. Tapco and Lancer are the others in place and their products are pretty "meh". So price will follow that trend.
I'll bet no one in this thread is a true smooth operator like this legit-ass boss.

Troy makes some good mags
I ended up buying two 1st gen Magpul P-Mags for $35 a piece. I couldn't talk the dealers down unless I wanted to buy five at a time. The prices are really inflated right now. I'm currently shopping around online for a couple quality AR15 lower parts kits and pricing stripped upper receivers. The show I went to this past weekend was severely deficient on these items.
So glad I bought mine PREHOOK
Keep an eye on cabelas.com, I got some PMAGs for $20 a month or two ago, well after the rush.
Spoiler:
Been getting spammed pretty hard by CDNN lately, they have CD (Import?) 40rd or CProds 30rd for $30 apiece.

It doesn't even look like they stock Magpuls any more. They've got these aluminum mags to replace them.
lookit dem magwell and rails
Yeah, it was weird, they didn't list it, then all of a sudden it popped up. They sold out a couple hours later and it disappeared again. Not sure if it's a not-normally-stocked item, or if they only list it when it's in-stock because of the massive demand. Or something else, who knows.
