He's apparently on activity duty. There's a lot of good info, but he definitely rambles a lot. Video could be 20 minutes shorter if he would script what he says.

Am going to agree with Razor. 7.62 NEEDS to be designed to run the cheap surplus stuff. Ruger Mini-30 is a pistol & only likes SAAMI ammo.

Yeah per my research he's an airforce officer of some sort, possibly pilot (which let's be honest hardly qualifies for weapons expertise). It still doesn't excuse being in deployment pattern uniforms with a shit load of gear like that, but each to his own.

Either way, who would you rather have reviewing gear: someone who lives and breathes gear and puts a huge variety of it through its paces irl or someone who buys gear and fondles it in his mothers basement?

Just remembered that importing receivers was banned some time in the 90's. Basically the guy in the article decided to start manufacturing the rest if the rifle. There is another company that has been doing that for about 15 years now. The cost of importing parts has increased over the years to the point that national manufacture makes sense. I forget the name of the company but there has been 100% US made AKs being sold for about ten years or so.
