You still havent understood the IMC. Its not about saving resources like in poor russia. Its about spending as much as possible.
So who is to to blame for the stoppage? I would have expected the extractor to pull the dud out properly.
Because America cannot into glorious titanium duh.

I assume they're not going round by round wiping it and oiling it (I know i never did with my ammo) , and since it's not a regular army with people whose jobs it is to tend for ammo, shit happens. They probably should though, as the guy said it would be shit to get killed over it.
Yes, but I'm sure you got issued the same type of stuff I did, i.e. ammo that is relatively new, has been stored somewhere mostly climate controlled, and that hasn't been seriously mishandled. If I were given ammo matching what I think of when I hear that story, I'd take the extra couple of minutes to do a little preventative maintenance on it, especially if I were relying on it to keep me alive.
Yeh, pretty much.
I remember using tracer ammo in basic training once that was mondo corroded and had sand all over it, but sig 550 had no problems (didn't even had to use the extra gas power option). Was a real bitch to clean in the evening, but worked just fine.
Then again, I don't even wanna know the quality of ammo and the amount of sand they deal with v0v.
I am just having the impression that this guy in the video doesnt seem to have much of an understanding of what he is doing, but is more of a war tourist kind of cheap thrills guy. If I was in a warzone, the last thing to use would possibly be an Airsoft optic setup. The whole idea of having a Pica Rail on top of the AK dust cover is just very airsoft, as you literally mount your optic on a non fixed flap that has no physical link to the barrel. Which is why actual AK optics have this side mount. Mounting an Airsoft reddot with some ghetto UTG mount on top of that flippyfloppy AK-dust-cover rail doesnt make it more accurate as inacurracies always act cumulative. So theres the inherently "not so accurate" ak platform, a flippy floppy dust lid picatinny, an airsoft optic+mount and junk ammo.
I would be suprised if he can hit a body sized target beyond 100-150m. To me that just fits the image that the guy who has a non running ak is also the guy who has it tacticool kitted with junk rather than using the tried and true iron sights OR proper opitcs.
