That sounds a lot more like premeditated murder than home defense.

What does BFE stand for? I only know it as a German abbreviation for a Beweissicherungs- und Festnahmeeinheit, an arrest unit.
Big Fragging Enema
No such thing exists in Healthcare that I am aware of

See I have issues, despite admittedly having a 12g for HD, with using a long platform for home defense. Having to turn tight corners and doors is fucking hard with a weapon like that without presenring the buisness end in the wrong direction early.
When me and my wife clear our home if nessecary.. ill tote the 12 and she totes her SR22. Or at times we will change because I feel better with me holding a .40 and her holding a shotgun.
I wouldn't use anything smaller than 12 tho.

It's a colloquialism that started I think either in the 70's or 80's as I learned it BFE means "Butt Fucking Egypt" which somehow means "the middle of nowhere". I have a suspicion that it came in to popular use through a movie or two in the 80's but I can't remember if that is the case. There might be other acronym breakdowns but that is the one I know.
Its funny you mention that, one of them recently murdered someone with their semi truck -.-
Also, Anderson, why the hell would you rely on a .22 pistol for defense? Not only is the ammunition inconsistent and not reliable in semi-autos, but its also not reliable to go boom in the first place. Not to mention she'd have to have perfect shot placement to matter, which seems unlikely.
EDIT: BFE = Butt Fucked Egypt. The nearest town to my dad has a population of 100.
M8 you are preaching to the choir I do not approve of her choice for her first pistol. I would have preferred her having a 9 but my wife decided she would like to own and operate a 22 pistol first .
However I will disagree in that the value of a 22LR cannot be underestimated it is still dangerous weapon. Yes she may have to unload the majority of the firearm into the victim to incapacitate him but it is possible and she could do it.
She will be getting a 9mm soon. But she isn't the first and won't be the last to use a 22 for Self defense.

I don't understand this line of reasoning. If a person has a reasonable fear for their own or another person's safety as judged by a jury of their peers, it's self defense in most states. The range does not determine if it was murder, but is a factor in the jury deciding if the person involved in the shooting had an unreasonable fear. You can't discount circumstances and environment just because a shooting occurred at greater than bad breath range.
