That said, a .22 Hornet is sufficient if you make a neck shot.
Also I can't say enough good things about my Glock 20 (10mm Auto). It would be a great weapon for backup and it shoots like a 9mm with a bit more 'push' but carries a fuckton of power. If I could only own one handgun, that'd be it.

I see people use slugs too. .45-70 will kill a lot of stuff as well and you get to use a lever action.

The real obstacle right now for the space marine style mobile stuff is power density and storage. A suit that can curl 500 pounds with either arm really does you no good if it only lasts for 15 minutes. Though if the energy storage stuff ever does get solved, I'm sure we'll start seeing bigger weapons that were originally designed to be crew served or vehicle mounted being carried by someone in one of those suits.
Isn't the new exo that Boston is making using some awesome battery to last for like 10 hours?
