Did he load it wrong? I forget if you load a ghost round instead of lifting the dongle bit and locking the rounds in place. Which would explain why he had issues closing the lid.

P sure you don't. Considering it's been scaled down to .22 I wouldn't worry if the tolerances are a bit out and it requires a bit of a tap.

Pretty fun looking bit of kit with no practical purpose besides causing embarrassment in the afterlife when waiting at the pearly gates or getting judged by Allah.

Actually less than a century because gas operation didn't come up until late 19th. And AL prototypes with this system came up during 80s.

It's only useful on lightweight rifles for full auto use. Outside of that you're just adding more weight and complicating a simple system. Something like that might work for an IAR style gun but not much else. Riflemen using the happy switch is still looked down upon except in very niche circumstances. There's also the point about 5.56 generating very little recoil in the first place (muzzle brake makes it disappear altogether but isn't best for combat). The SAW/Mini already has enough weight to counter recoil and doesn't need any more added. Heavier GMPG's really don't need the extra weight and are fired from a stabilized bipod or tripod. So it's a solution looking for a problem.

Relative to classic AK scheme, as in negates the bolt movement completely so you only have the bullet's impulse.

Actually no. I implied that a muzzle brake isn't the best thing in combat. That shit stands out at night. A2 birdcage flash suppressor isn't the best but it does an ok job. AK's at night with and without the muzzle comp and it paint a nice picture of where you're at. Sometimes visible during daytime. TIt kicks up plenty of dust and it doesn't do your neighbor any favors either. Shit is loud! Would be nice if we went to the SE Vortex. Thing was made in the 1990's and you get 0 muzzle flash. None. It's voodoo.

M4 doesn't have much recoil from the 5.56mm (5.45mm shouldn't either) nor do we run full auto doctrines. So a muzzle brake isn't to our benefit. A -74 running a muzzle brake is almost like a relic from the old -47. I mean if I was doing IPSC games then sure, muzzle brake all the way. But combat?

It's the export version (EMAG) made for the SA-80, HK416, etc. Some magwells designed for the NATO spec mag don't function as well with the standard PMAG.

I would guess the ammo window is a quick easy way to check if the spring is janky. You can tell if a mag is loaded just by picking it up, looking at it, or pushing down on the top bullet and seeing how far down it goes.
