When my battalion received a few spots allocated for a jumping course, i tried to weasel in and jump me a jump. So i went to the battalion physician and tried to get a phys.exam clearance from him for the course. The bastard laughed at me, and said that he's going jump instead because there's no way he's clearing me. And jump he did.
So I am "leg".

POG is personnel other than grunt. It started in the Marine Corps I believe.

Jesus not you as well? It is a long and storied tradition of the military to not only reuse acronyms but use the same acronym to mean totally different things in some very rare cases in the same document. This is mostly so supply and other such agencies within the division has obfuscated rules so they can tell anyone under the rank of lieutenant or staff sergeant that their paperwork is wrong and needs to be redone. POG being slang just uses proper acronym construction.
