It is piss easy to get a gun in germany, it is just harder than walking into a store. And thats a good thing to have it that way UNLESS you have gone through some checks and hoops.
And then getting easy, walk into a store, walk out with 10 AK's, fax a purchase notice to police, they send you your legal doc, done. Apart from 1 fax, as easy as buying a beer AFTER those hoops.
I am not entirely sure if you think that abandoning those hoops is good or you think that these hoops are a "not easy". Because they are. A weekend of training and certification, then going to the range shoot once a month. Actually most ranges will allow you to buy a gun on day one, they will just hand it for the shooting and you get to take it home only after 1 year. Thats reasonable. I am not a fan of the 1 year rule, but given the amount of airsoft retards, I rather have more steep initial hoops than more regulation.
You seem to miss the part when I say I am in favor of these rules.
But when you say easy, most people not familiar with the rules think you can just walk into a fucking store and buy one. Like in the US or in Austria for certain guns.
If you have no WBK/WP or Jagdkarte you can just walk in and buy a non-semi rifle/shotgun, true. But it won't be handed to you for 72 hours. The dealer notes your details down (Name, DOB, current address) and contacts the BH/Magistrat to check for a weapons ban on you.
You'll only be handed over the gun if there is no ban or if the Magistrate doesn't answer.
Also the weapon gets registered in the ZWR.
AFAIK the dealer can only do this check after you purchased, so if you don't know of this rule you're in for a surprise. Not sure though cause it doesn't apply to me.
In other news I bought this G19 last week after phoning seven dealers in/near Vienna if they had one in stock:

My first Gen4 after only owning Gen3s until then. Handled it a few weeks ago after a friend bought one and thought: Eh, that grip is so much better, may have to get one myself. Looking forward to shooting it the first time.
Have to polish and change the connector first, you can see the new "-" one in the picture.
When I entered the dealer I was quite amazed how many customers were waiting. Four employees dealing with customers at once, still took me 30min to get to the front of the row. About 1/3 of the shoppers were women too compared to the 5% or so that are members of my Verein.
Had heard/read about the increase of interest regarding self defense but didn't know it was this high.
