View Full Version : Does anyone know how to make a sticky, thick sauce?

So I can make amazing glazes (which are sticky) and sauces (which are smooth and thick) but I can't make sticky thick sauces (the consistency of, say, bbq sauce or thicker and want to learn how.

Suggestions please!

Have you tried a roux-based sauce? That's how I do it.

Not sure if I get this right but I would say putting a bit of flour or flour+butter ("beurre manié") in a sauce (depending of sauce ofc), or simply letting the water evaporate a bit?
Or did you just want a list of thick(er) sauce? In this cause any particular meal you want to dress?
