Hello m8s,
i cannot test well on SiSi (still closed), but i was thinking about the vagabond against for example these new ASB AF (for example an Hawk).. i saw many times AF killing vagas (220mm when they dont have neut)... simply killing drones and then slowly eat the shields HP... the same against Talos (its normal neutron cannot hit AF)...
Now with these new "moda" of XL ASB vagas, i saw they prefer using a small NOS instead of a neut (i understand the idea of the NOS to survive under neuting pressure)... but how they defend against AF? 220mm cannot track AF, but these new fits use 180mm... better tracking ok, but enough for hitting AF? because with only 25m3 of drone bay, no neut how they defend against these AF? I saw kovorix video, but fights are against bigger ships, or frigates and ceptor that die pretty fast under his drones...
thanks! o7

Dual prop.

Get under the guns, you're fine.
Watch out for ECM drones & the neut.

You misunderstood him I think. He's asking how a Vaga defends against AFs.
I'd personally pack some DU or Titanium Sabot ammo, and a shot of drop. d180s + DU tracking boost + drop tracking boost should be enough to start hitting AFs if you're any good at manual piloting.

I remember reading way back that the difference between the medium gun sizes aren't really that important, as at some point the frig's transversal will be too high for anything to track anyway. The only difference was that larger guns stop tracking at 5km instead of 3km, something like that. In any case, a web will probably help you more, if you're into getting scrambled by AFs.
They're still slow as shit and I can't understand how you could get tackled by an AF in a vagabond, unless you're really trying to keep the AF tackled. The best way in any case are ECM drones though. Also, biggest dick move ever.

ASB Vaga/SFI is scram fit. Again, dual prop is the answer.

The usual af is mwd/scram/web fit, and a "normal" vaga has a disruptor and a mwd, meaning once cought the af can speedtank the vagas guns, kill its drones and than finish of the vaga itself. Now for the xlasb ones, as mentioned before they usually are scram/dualprop, meaning they will be faster than an af in scramrange (as ab + scram > web +scram speedwise) meaning the vaga will have no transversal and is able to kill off the frigate!
In case the af is ab/web/scram fit it gets a bit more difficult for the vaga as now the speedadvatage is with the af again, but the tracking of the 180 combined with a bit of manual piloting (i.e see where the af is flying, burn in oposite direction, repeat till hes dead) trying to minimize transversal should be enough to track most frigates quite nicely!

Which AF is fast enough to catch your Vagabond?

XLASB Vagas fight in scram range. So pretty much all of them.
