I bought a handheld blender in tescos for €20 and it works really really well for making smoothies, my only problem is it is too small to crush up large ice cubes(so I just got smaller trays)

Just buy a standard issue blender within your chosen price range don't buy one that is clearly shit and head off to smoothy victory.

Any genius can do that. I was hoping some healthfag on here would have an decent suggestion at least.

Start a smoothie thread about it IMO, blenders are not that complex anything sturdy will do never liked the hand blenders probably because I just picture them to be to messy for a retard like me. Glass pitcher > Plastic pulse buttons are handy and more buttons does not = better. Brand is largely irrelevant but I've never been disappointed by Oster or Cuisinart. If it looks like style was more important than functionality assume it's shit.
Also are you looking for a blender or a food processor as that is a totally different discussion and I've only used cuisinart food processors.

I had a plastic one that had pieces of it break off while crushing up some ice cubes.
Now I have a much higher quality glass one and its much sturdier. So my advice is to at least get a glass one, not a POS plastic.
