i just can't come up with a better fit for solo..
it didn't do too bad for a ferox (love the wordfilter), but the ferox is garbage no matter how you fit it :emo:

The fit in the OP isn't that bad for a blaster ferox. You can whine about blasterox in general but overall, well, there it is.
If anything I'd drop the web and add more tank, even when solo'ing.
You should be able to hit most stuff and an extra invuln or something would really add to the tank.

Its still terrible compared a 'clone that would have more dps, a bit more tank, more speed, and most importantly more cargohold.

why do these fits all have meta3 or lower tackle mods when there's cpu to spare? I know you can overheat them a tiny little bit longer, but extra range and extra web strenth is more important, and you only ever need to heat 2 cycles in a fight, the 'getting tackle' cycle and maybe the "he's about to exit scram range" cycle.

Small nos would be nice. Doesn't add much cap stability, but the cap is so bad that anything you can get is going to be helpful. Blue pill seems like a must. Maybe use a t2 mwd? It depends on how you fly it but I'm assuming that your mwd will be off for a good portion of the fight seens how you're going to be operating within scram range, so the reduced cap reduction might come in handy. I'm sort of hesitant to say this but based purely off eft lg crystals alpha-epsilon might be worth purchasing.

Is this done often? Running crystal sets without omegas, I mean. Cost considerations and/or using some other implant?
(I realize this is probably not THE place to ask.)

Yup. If EFT is to be trusted, omega only gives you 15 or so extra dps tanked, so imo for 300+ mil and slot 6, you can do far better.
As for how often excluding the omega is done, I've no idea if it is common practice, but I've left it out on more then one implant set, for exactly the reasons you pointed out.

yeah it's pretty common, so is running HG slots 1-5 then LG for the omega.

The meme started long before I joined SHC, but I believe the lore is that the ship was presumed so bad, that the pilot using it in PVP must not care because he has a 14 inch penis to compensate.
I think. SHC historians please correct me?

What's the point of all that EHP if you don't get primaried? Fly a cyclone, do 35% more DPS while being 26% faster.
("your skills" must include some implants because that 14-incher does 384 DPS with all Vs and no implants, the standard metric for comparison)

I'd flip the EM Hardener for a web, particularly if you're loading hail.
why the hell did you copy-paste from EFT and then remove the actual shipname, which lets other people copy-paste it in to check stats?
Wrack: turn the drones back on if you copied the fit, its 493 w/ all V skills before implants, with the caveat that using hail with this fit is likely to be massive fail.
452 w/ Fusion/EMP/PP

if you don't have AWU V, it fits with AWU IV and a y-t8 overcharged, which you should be using anyways since there's hardly ever any reason to use the T2 MWD.

oh god i love EFT warriors, shouldn't you be on the battleclinic forums.
"copy-paste from EFT" good question, i have no answer for you.
per your other post "1) Nobody gives a shit what it does with your skills, we use All V as a comparison basis for fits" please continue to do this as this is the way of the EFT warrior and we love it when you lose your ship then rage log \o// and everyone gives a shit about my skills cause my mommy loves me and thinks i'm handsome
I do VERY well with this fit with barrage and hail loaded (no need for tracking mods if you know how to pvp)
I find the same people are critics of these fits. They are always in huge fleets, end up #5 or #6 in damage on killmails and don't really have much practical pvp experience other than doing what someone tells them to do.
OMG look i'm right http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/c ... s+Tenebros (http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/combat_record.php?type=player&name=Tyrus+Tenebros)
per my first post, ok ok i f'd up and i can take the lawls directed at me
Congratulations you are now on my shit list and the only person there is you, we all use Level 5 skills for showing tank/gank numbers as that is a level everyone can easily view on EFT. No I don't give a fuck about your shit skills, you are not a special snowflake. - Helen

also, lets not mention that 220' track better than 425's and do only slightly less damage? good call.
Excluding Drones:
Hail on the 220s hits for 394 nominal dps @ 1.4 + 5.5 range w/ .106 tracking
RF Fusion/EMP/PP on 425s hits for 370 @ 1.5+12 range w/ .132 tracking
You lose 24 paper dps in exchange for MORE tracking and MORE range.
Obviously, 220s with equivalent ammo track better: 220s with Fusion/EMP/PP hit for 353 DPS @ 1.4+11 (marginal) at .15 tracking, an effective loss of 17 more dps compared to the 425s, for a somewhat smaller jump in tracking.
Comparably, you can load hail in the 425s vs. larger targets and still be ok. In any of those cases, I'd still suggest dropping the EM hard for a web.
Oh and whats the problem with an "empire dweller" badge? Do you even know who PRONS/DHRS are or what they do? you dont? didnt think so.I don't care to carry on the KB stats spurging since there's no reason for it in the fitting section. (In before: LOL YOU GIVE UP)
I am, on the other hand, constantly amused by many of the calls of EFT warrior that I've seen on S/F/HC... my conception of the eft warrior is somebody who creates a fit that fits an absurd niche situation very well, or uses insanely overpriced modules to produce a certain effect, and claims that the ship is "good" in general or somehow very useful.
EFT Warrioring is NOT discussing the actual specs of a ship (and the use of a baseline character for comparison), nor is it generally practiced here. Furthermore, it's often an accusation levelled by people using obviously sub-optimal fits but having some particular successes they point to or claims that it is "more fun", when nearly identically functional, yet demonstrably better versions are easy to find with only cursory use of a fitting program.
(note that last wasn't particularly directed at bossdrum, though some definitely applies, the fit isn't completely horrid by any means, it's just a typical feature of people who bitch about the use of EFT)

I see there is a lot of retard in this thread. Since god knows when, all lvl 5's has always been a base/standard when doing fits, despite what you may think, a LOT of us DO have those lvl 5's on our chars. If you don't got level 5's (wait people don't got those? ahahha scrubs) you change out modules to best named to make the bitch fit.
Tyrus' fit is good, it all just comes down to what you prefer, more dps or better tracking, depending on what you are trying to hunt.

You should be able to hit most stuff and an extra invuln or something would really add to the tank.
I'd actually be tempted to go the other way and drop the invuln for a second web, I think. Extra tank is nice, but effortlessly tearing tackling frigates to pieces is nicer, and you'll still have enough DPS/EHP to kill HACs and cruisers and suchlike; even with the extra tank from only fitting one tackle mod, the Ferox won't stand up to properly-fit tier 2 BCs, so I don't see much point in trying to beef it up to make it do that.

The Ferox is a good ship for us with a name that start on a A :P
I used often when SniperHacs/snipeBC was fashion (RIP) and sometimes in shieldroams to troll serious pvper with same thing when you bring a Beagle to a roam (Im a member of Swedish Beagle Federation).
But to be honest, a cyclone is much better in everyway, and thats why I wub it even more

speed and cap are a bit  tank is already beefy enough so no qualms about losing a shield rig for an ACR to get neutrons (if you're not quick being able to apply dps out to 20km is pretty important imo). small nos is pretty much useless but *shrug* wondering if there's a place for a small cap booster but that'd involve losing the web and raging everytime a rifter kills you or losing the invuln in which case there's no real point to the hull over any other BC.

Ferox now best Tier 1 BC c/d?
Brutix still tears it apart, other than that absurdly enough the ferox appears to align faster, though the brutix is SLIGHTLY faster.
If the ferox can hold range on a brutix it'll win, perhaps.
The dual-neut HAM fit is actually more "interesting" looking, for baiting out bads in.

You want to use a long point for killing frigs, as the MWD bloom while dual webbed makes them a lot easier to hit.
Edit: Having checked eft. Your damage with 2x TE on an afterburning dram at 20k is almost none existent, so you maybe as well roll with 2x gyro and try to sling shot any frigs that do that to you.

It's the standard Ferox, and surely you'll notice it's also on the first page.
It hasn't changed since 2009, except now you can fit larger guns :-P
Although, it's highly recommended to run a nos in that utility high.
The ship doesn't have a big cargo, is cap unstable, and DRINKS cap.

Similar to the drake fit I linked - this ship's and the drakes bonuses line up very nicely for these sort of setups.

60,604 EHP vs omni (62,512 w/CDFE, but EM is preferable without links)
5,577 Raw HP boosted w/ASB per cap cycle.
490 dps pre-heat
Smartbomb is there for DISHONOUR DRONES.
1025 dps tank under tengu bonuses, EHP jumps to 92,370, not far at all behind the drake fit I have, which is quite nice considering theres usually a huge gap between tier 1-->tier 2 BC.
Only thing you lose is the web(but gain the smartbomb for DISHONOUR DRONES), which isn't quite as huge when using guns instead of HAMs; smart piloting can minimize xversal, whereas with HAMs you need a slowish target or your missiles hit for shit dps. ><
Also, people think "lolferox" instead of "fuck, a brick tank draek". =D

you've got the web and already outrange any blaster boat, scrap the tracking enhancer TBH

Yeah there's fitting issues if switching it for a magstab, though you can drop the nos and it'll fit.

Fits with genolutions :duckandcover:
With an additional +2% CPU implant also fits with a 2nd T2 invuln field. Alternatively, downgrade to 2x MFS / 1x TE and it fits with 2nd T2 invuln
T1 / 3x MFS
43k EHP, 1053 / 1548 tank before links/boosters/crystals
604 / 680 dps (727 heated with typical +5/+3% implants)
enough cap life that running out of ancillary boosting will kill you long before you cap out, except under heavy neuting I suppose.
T2 / 2x MSF, 1x TE Upgrades the tank 1108 / 1665, and drops dps to 548/615 (658 implanted), though at 3.9+8.1 range w/ cnam.

t2 shield boost amp instead of second invul might be worth it?

doesn't fit unless you downgrade somewhere, but the tank is better, yes.
