Man yesterday after the 5th wave was released I got in.
I created 8 characters played them all to lvl 3 ish to reserve their names and then commenced playing the bounty hunter till about 4 in the morning.
Game is virtual crack and as I am a junkie its just what I need =)
Ended up at the rp-pve server the progenitor.
No frame rate issues at all.
I have an ati card and I all I had to do was use the ccc thingy to force AA to x8, resolution at 1920x1200 everything high averages out at 40 fps.
Game looks great.
Rest of the day I wil be enjoying my escapism.
Edit: that is when the maintenance ends >.<

I am also on a RP-PVE server can't remember its name though, West Coast one starting with B and has colony at the end. I must say the RP ones are a lot nicer because you don't get retards saying stupid things in the chat and people seem genuinely quite helpful compared to just the normal PVE servers.
And yes I went with PVE because I couldn't be assed with people being able to kill me anywhere I want to play it for the story's not PVP.

The whole early access system is a sham...I burned my code EARLY, and there are people who used theirs yesterday and got their early access today.
I'd actually be ok with this, but right on their customer support page it says the early access would be first come first served...so much for sticking to the plan
Sent from my HTC EVO using Tapatalk (pissing FHC off since 2011)
Noobcake as far as I know there really are people that redeemed their code earlier and still have no invite / no active [PLAY] button. The opposite, however, is complete bullshit. Ive been following the threads where people report their redeem / EGA dates and it looks ok to me. People get access when they should, not earlier than that. From time to time some faggot says that he preordered on say, the 12th, but its bullshit.
Im really hoping that my 13.12.12 preoprer will be enough to get into the early access today. Or i will kill someone (still no reply from biofag support).

Rolled Republic side on The Twin Peaks if anyone happens to be on it. Names Yardesh so far, sadly work cutting into play time so wont really be able to play much till later in the weekend. In beta I had tons of issues with the audio and UI bugs but seems most of them are worked out now in release. Still cant properly force AA for me though, get tons of graphical issues.

Moved everything up to max settings and did a few tweaks and to be fair it looks pretty damn good, stylized sure but still very decent. The game launches at the lowest settings and as strong as a first impression can be it seems strange you have to do all this manually to make it look nice.
Enjoying it so far and hit 24-25 last night cant quite remember, one tip is to get all the quests relating to the space combat done as soon as they pop up because they reward fat xp at the earlier levels. Server im on seems dead, I am wondering just how phased these servers are because I have never seen more that 100 in any zone so far. Made a bit of an stupid knee jerk decision and rolled on a PvE server but in all the time so far playing I have yet to even clap eyes on a republic player so hardly matters, can always do another playthrough on a PvP server once they are nicely filled with shitters.
One minor annoying thing so far is the camera insisting on zooming in and locking when it encounters terrain down from the maximum level. Still would recommend going into the options and enabling the maximum level of zoom-out.

Dromund Kaas (imperial 10-16 planet) on my server was at over 100 yesterday late evening when I had to visit it for a short quest. Haven't seen above 10 people of Tatooine (24-28) though. But that is simply because I played waaaaaaay too much the last 3 days. Had no work, etc. Or, better, I have work, but it is no fixed time one, so I decided to do it..later.
Graphics - it is not skyrim jawdropping thats for sure. But ...seriously... tell me a MMORPG which looks better. I am quite happy with the landscaping though, stuff looks very natural, it lacks the "cubism" of many other games.

Hi Aramendel!
I wanted to apologize for being derp and wasting the preorder code you gave me. Someone else could eventually put it to good use. I still havent resolved the issue with Bioshit support (the -shit part is for "lol we will make you wait between 30 hours and inifinity before we acknowledge that the name on the id card you showed us is yours"). I am expecting to get in on the next wave (or at worst on the one after it) with my own preorder code :(

edit: nvm, found the ini file and added an AntiAliasingLevel string...apparently AA is turned off by default through the client, so you need to force it on through this .ini.
C:\Users\(user)\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\settings contains "client_settings.ini"...open it up and add the following line:
AntiAliasingLevel=16 <<<< I used 16, but you can obviously use whatever u wanna set the AA to.

I laughed hard at some moments, especially on the class quests when 2 of us observed the conversation and the choices of the third person. "Hawt, look! I have to say, that if you're not abusing the living shit out of slicing while you can...you're doing it wrong.
Most people level 20 in my group of friends had maybe 5k-10k - the 2nd most had 20k. I had about 90k. Slicing is the SHIT! Do yourself a favor and spam the living crap out of it with every companion you have until they patch it. Think I'm 275 and right now I do missions that take roughly 20 minutes...and can make anywhere from 100-200 credits to 4k - EACH companion.
Did I also mention it drops cybertech schematics and rare mission drops?

Careful with this. If you do *everything* you will overlevel content on the next planet.
I.e. I ignored 90% of the group quests, did not do the "bonus quests" of the last 2 planets and only did 1 flashpoint *and* evaded a lot of mobs with stealth I am just slightly underleveled.
Unless you want to fight stuff semi-afk because it is so easy do not do evry quest, save those for a playthrough with another class.

Well they would have looked at their metrics and determined that they have a much larger US player base. The US servers are pretty much all full during prime time as well so its a universal problem. I'd be surprised if the capcity is 50%, not saying they can't increase it but I would be surprised if its half, that just seems wishful thinking.

maybe maybe not, all the crafting skills need two gathering skills, and slicing doesn't actually feed any of them, we'll have to see weather it can compensate for not having all the gathering skills you need. Right now it really hurts cause the markets aren't moving.

The problem is that crew skills have no level requirement whatsoever.
So you can just make an alt in a few hours till you have your first companion (or a day to get the ship with the droid too) and just keep them doing slicing missions. At high levels those take some time so you can easily keep it up while playing with your main.

no level req? you need to be level 10 to get them...while it isnt difficult to get there, it's a load of cutscenes, and bullshit missions to get there. Also, while I *do* agree that slicing needs to be fixed, what do you propose be done to fix it? If you limit it to levels, you need to limit all the crew skills to specific levels, otherwise slicing becomes a non-desirable skill.

Firstly, no, you can go up to imperial fleet at level 1 and pick them up. You can only do missions when you get you companion, though.
And cutscenes are skippable with the space bar.
It is no issue whatsoever to get your companion in 2-3 hours, or your ship in a day. I know because I did this very thing. And, yes, all crew skills should be limited with the level. Within a reasonable amount, like that you can do the next braket of skills while you are lvl wise still in the first.
As it is right now the best combination for the maximum money and crafting gain would be to have your main with a crafting skill and 2 gathering skills and 1-2 alts with mission skills and slicing.

oh look we've drifted from the part of this debate where you propose that the skills be somehow level-restricted. I actually never did see a proposal from you about why/how the skills should be level-based. In theory it's a good idea, but in practice it just leads to more "fuck, more grinding to unlock shit" behavior from an industry thats already full of an attitude that thinks that "unlocking" is the best way to promote interaction.

What "more grinding" exactly?
In WoW it is exactly like that (crafting skill ranges being level restricted) and I *never* experienced any "fuck, more grinding" moments regarding those limitations. This is because (on a char you actually play) it makes no sense to level up a skill to produce items far above your level range, because a) you cannot use them and b) you cannot afford to level it up that far.
The only situation where this matters is if you want to create pure crafting skill alts which supply your main character. Why is in the end counterproductive to the gameplay and something Bioware does not want either. Otherwise they wouldn't have given us a 3 crew skill limitation per character to begin with.
Or if you want to use a crafting skill (and it's resulting money earning capabilities) at max level while you are still far below. But do you really need be drawn a diagram why this is bad? It makes costs in the game before 50 (and possibly then as well depending how broken slicing then still is) a non-issue. In other words, it wrecks the economy because it makes the moneysinks ineffective. And it makes that skill a "must-have".

It has its own experience bar and they said you will unlock features in time (and they will add more). What those exactly are is relatively unknown. At least I haven't seen a dev post with definite info. I might have missed one though.
In short:
Unlock character customization options: Maybe. Although I doubt that (assuming I understand you correctly and you mean new hairstyles, etc), I would rather think its stuff which benefits existing characters.
Just a stupid surname: Definitely not, it is a good deal more than that.

The fastest way is likely the emergency fleet pass, but that has a 18 hour cooldown.

So I thought even though there is a DT I would just launch the game anyway, but once it had gotten through the intro movie the game crashed, is this because of the DT?
I had early access and never did that so I am wondering if it is an effect of the current DT.

Fun fact: Daco and I ordered it at the same time, separately, with delivery to the same location (ordered separately due to being unsure whether they would send 1 or 2 pre-order codes). Both orders left the warehouse at the same time (presumably on the same truck). Daco's order was then sent via Los Angeles, mine was sent via New York. They arrived in the country and then in the local are about 3 hours apart, but were delivered the following day to our house by the same local courier.

how retarded are BW/EA?
they launch this game over christmas, a time where literally every one has plenty of time to play, they knew exactly how many preorders they had and probably also knew how many shop copies had sold for launch day without "early start".
and what happens... i cant even log in any more early in the morning cause there is a queue now where during early start there wasnt.
this is either a) exceptionally stupid planning or b) pure greed (we gotz your monies, screw you and wait. we ll scrape by on bare minimum servers)

To be fair it can not be easy to manage something that is as fickle as a human population on a server, it is far from static.
People have friends they want to join a few days later that kind of thing.

Not sure what it's like on other servers, but it looks like augments are practically worthless, whereas underworld metals cost a small fortune, yay slicing. I have since dropped slicing and picked up underworld trading so I can properly craft.

Why the hell would you do augment missions, if you can do lockbox missions. lvl 6 Slicing mission cost me 2,5k to start, takes ~30mins, I get 2k back as the crappiest possible result aside from failing, up to and including a blue lockbox with up to 10k credits + blue/purple mission to sell and possibly also an augment (talking about both extreme ends of the spectrum). Lvl 26 atm with 150k credits and I drive a speeder (48k spent) and 7 moddable items now, half of them bought along the way.

I did read a post Bioware stated they would raise capacity for full servers over the next few days.
I think they are already doing that. Kinda.
When I logged in in Dormund Kaas after a 20 min queue (which was more like 40 min) there were relatively few people online there compared to yesterday late evening when there was no queue. Sure, maybe a lot of people in the starting zones - except people report that there aren't that many there either.
So I suspect there are keeping the older shards at an artificially low pop cap to encourage more now players *not* to pick them. Also, later I got disconnected (yay!) and was in a 300 people queue. However when I tabbed in a few minutes after I checked last and was on #150 I was in my login screen - which shouldn't have happened that fast. In the forums I read a post of someone claiming he suddenly skipped a 300er queue.
So I think they are increasing the cap already, although it is likely that is only the artificially low cap getting increased to the previously normal amount.

I don't know about today, but I got back onto my US east server right after the launch downtime last night (11 pm for me, still primetime-ish) and ran an instance with no trouble.
I'm willing to bet that the newbie planets will actually be quieter this week than they were in early access. Everyone who preordered was playing by friday, and people who didn't preorder will be trickling in gradually, rather than all slamming the servers today. The real test will be this weekend, probably.
Also, highly important protip: get slicing. Everyone needs slicing. It trivializes all of the credit sinks in the game while you level, and once you're a millionaire (literally), you can drop it and get whatever third crew skill you actually want for crafting.

Cool, ok.
So how do you go about getting the schematics for them? So far I've only got premium schematics from the crew skills vendor and prototype versions from reverse engineering said premium items. Where else can you get them from? Armortech in particular.
Also, I found I was losing more credits than gaining when running slicing (lockbox) missions. Most of the time the box would give me less than the mission cost, and the good lockbox drops were offset by failed attempts. Whats the secret? Do you get more reliable drops from running yellow difficulty missions than running orange difficulty missions?
For reference I currently have a level 16 BH, with slicing at 120. Yes I've been playing it since last Friday and yes I know I'm slow.

Drops or reverse engineering blues, the latter probably really isn't worth it though. As you have no real trouble getting orange gear from badges.

- Obviously only do lockbox missions, not augments
- Never run orange missions, they have a high failure percentage
- The best paying missions are not the highest class ones, but rather the highest yield ones. Class is selected in the dropdown menu in the top right. Yield is Rich > Bountiful > Abundant > Moderate. If you don't have any rich or abundant available, just pick any yellow mission, you'll get a skillup and if lucky at least break even.
- From the start until about 150 slicing, it will seem like you mostly break even. It's no big deal, once you get to the 150-200 range, you'll have rich missions available more often and will start to really make bank.
- As your slicing approaches 400, you'll see these missions, which are the endgame of slicing: class 5 rich lockbox, class 4 bountiful lockbox, class 3 rich lockbox. The first is obviously the best, the latter two seem about equal in average profit.

Good advice, although even by always picking the highest skill slicing missions (focus on getting it up fast) I had no issues with making good money with slicing.
With these tactics, how do you get "new" missions? Basically, if you have missions you do not like, what is the best way to remove them? Apart from doing them of course.
Like, if you have bad lvl 5 missions, when/how do you get new ones except by doing them?

questing at lvl 10-16 in a slicing rich zone (rogue Sith complex in the south on Dromund Kaas if you're Empire) and picking up all the boxes is also good for a couple of resons:
- free creds and skillup
- more creds and some xp from killing all the shit standing around the slice boxes
It really helps getting over the 150 skill hump described above. Although, I always sent them on the rich yield orange difficulty missions, risk/reward is p.good imho.
e: if you get bad top-level missions, just do a rich one from a lower level, I've noticed missions get refreshed fairly often, might be connected to zoning, no idea tbh

I would be surprised if they region lock us, seeing as US/EU are free to use servers on either continent, they just warn you that "you may get more lag".

Bloodworthy (EU), spend about 2h 10m in queue, played for 20min. Disconnected, 1h 55m in queue
:rage:
If you are running with Zonealarm or similar disable before playing, similar problems have been widely reported in this and also previously, frequently in wow.
Yes, if you get disconnected with a 9000 error you need to open a bunch of ports in your firewall, removed the majority of my disconnects. There is a post in the support forum which tells you which ones exactly.
How does something that is Digital get soldout??
That doesn't even make sence.
Server capacity issues maybe. Basically "Lets wait a bit till we have more servers before we sell more".

Normally, I would agree. But the insane queues and their unwillingness to add more servers makes this a common-sense move.

Who knows.
With all this queueing maybe they are trying to lessen/balance/regulate server load? I mean who would've anticipated a large demand for the biggest new MMO for a while, and one with Star Wars IP no less...
Guess I'm going shopping on my lunchbreak to see if the shops have it.

could be that they simply ran out of codes.
game developers routinely underestimate the initial popularity of their game. i can see it if they only made some 2 million codes total and slotted a million for digital and the rest for hardcopy sales (for example).
this game is going to be huge initialy and i doubt seriously the folks responsible have made adiquate plans for its popularity.

Bought yesterday (no pre-order).
Clerk got all snarky and said "Huruph, you're lucky we have a few extra copies".
I lol'd and said "No, actually you;re lucky. If you didn't, you wouldn't be getting my money. Nice customer service though".
U.S. Servers, wait times were short (2 min max, many serves with low or no waits), lag was acceptable (but noticeable at times as a slight stutter or delay).
Not a bad rollout for U.S. in my view, seen far far worse.

Server capacity is X. retail boxes shipped are Y, digital sales is Z. when Y+Z = X, you stop selling Z.
At least until capacity increases. I can't believe you guys can be that dumb.

DDE edition can be dl'd I think direct from the SW:Tor website (although that may have only been for early access folks) does not require Origin to be running to play and in fact once installed if you had to install Origin you could easy just delete Origin off your system so...

Confirming you don't need Origin to run the game. I bought my sub through them online, but I had the game installed from beta. Dunno if they try to include it if you download it from EA, but there's no reason you should have to leave that garbage on your machine once you're done with it.

Australian player here. Just got my bounty hunter to 11, chose Powertech and am probably going to push points into the middle damage tree - but I need to look into it. A Powertech clanmate gets top PvP kills and damage most rounds using a combo of flamer and railshot. Gets fucked by any CC though.
Decided to pickup an Imperial Agent as an alt - going to go sniper spec. on that. I'm not too impressed by the bounty hunter story of "rawr, revenge and fame and bitches!" but Imperial agent seems pretty chill. Also, British.
Starting to wish Mako came with a mute button.
Playing on Daragon Trail with my clan: after Warhammer, AION and Rift, fuck playing on any "unofficial" Oceanic servers. My countrymen are either totally retarded or taking up spots in the login queue that I want for myself during Au prime time.
Already thinking of putting another alt onto a light pop. PvE server just so I have something to do when Daragon thinks it'll take half an hour to connect and drops me from queue 10 minutes in for no reason...
It would be nice if they stuck a server or two out here but I'm happy to keep playing on the West Coast.

basically the 1002 error the only way I have found round it is to completely quit right out of the game for about 5-10 mins then log back on and try again not every time but most of the time it seems to reset your q that being said have not had a q tonight so dunno whether they maybe stopped the soft cap on the servers or not?

No thanks, currently playing on Begeren Colony. People seem pretty chill, no major retards have been sighted yet, and the server population isn't nuts.
On the topics of queues and digital copies running out; they only made limited copies of the game available so they knew they could handle the load, not sure when they're making more available. The queues from yesterday(?) on all the servers have been confirmed to be put in place by BW/EA, that was to try to encourage new players to start characters on the most recent servers. As you would have noticed all the older servers were marked with "Full" and a minimum 5min wait time, which in reality was more like 2mins for servers that were not actually full.

it appears they're being very conservative on infrastructure, so they're purposely limiting sales. It also might be an attempt to do the same thing wow did in the age before digital downloads where the lack of availability actually drove sales.

i dont think i have used cover in pvp at all other than to move quickly to a location when required.
the only thing that is worth using from the cover mechanic is the sabotage charge.
the shot from cover takes way too long to cast and costs too much energy.
can only tell for scoundrel at lvl 27 but if you are relying on the shot from cover you are doing it wrong, could be different for gunslingers.
Dot, blaster whip, kick, shotgun to the face, quick shot,... flashbang when needed, liberal use of "auto" attack and interrupt.
something like this works for me... but then again i m a healer.
also totally loving the stealth aspect. screw cover.

Cover mechanic is not an issue for me as a gunslinger in pvp, I regularly am top on DPS and more importantly, killing blows. I destroy shit so fast its ridiculous.
As for the unofficial oceanic server, its purely a timezone thing, if you want to raid you need to be able to play at a time when theres other people on, if you can play during the day then server is not an issue but if you can only play during the evenings you really want to be on a server with a good population in your time zone.

In regards to the cover specs (Gunslinger and Sniper) in PvP, i definitely see no cause for concern.
Yes, they are less mobile by their nature. And the probably need a bit more brainpower compared to say a Trooper or Bountyhunter to get the most out of them.
On the other hand, the half decent players i've seen with them ALWAYS compete for the top spots for damage and kills. They do so much damage, so fast, from so far away it's insane. If they are smart about positioning, they are little turrets of death with a 35m radius.

It was a matter of getting the pre-order in at the earliest time possible. TBH the sith force user starting planet is not the best indicator for this, later you get more complex decisions, i.e.:
Some eeebil sith who is rebelling had a bunch of captured (Imperial) soldiers you are searching for turned into robots by extracting their brains and putting them into robot chassis. Which resulted in better combat robots but also very unhappy soldiers (the "I would scream but I have no mouth" scenario). There you have the option to destroy them and end their torment (light) or send them back to your side, since they would be very useful for the empire (dark).
Not saying that there not still some quite stupid dark (and light, for that matter) side options, of course.
Personally I base my operatives decisions on a "what is best for the empire" viewpoint with a bit of a soft spot for the fate of military men and am out of 5000ish points about 50:50 light/dark.

I tried to convince myself it was all about fucking Mako and not avenging Mr 2 Minutes, but I just can't stand the bitch long enough right now.
Also, somehow I got to the Fleet and down onto Dromand Kaas without realising my Bounty Hunter only had 7 Hutta Commendations and I'd forgot to visit the vendor anyway. This was followed by much swearing and 45 long minutes farming for just ... one ... more ... then I had to march/shuttle my butt all the way back to Dromand ...
Switched to my Agent, I much prefer his story & voice acting anyway ... even if it has become a bit loopy now that I'm apparently expected to suckle at Darth Jadus's swollen sith-teat of loyalty-to-his-ego. Fucking Sith, like you have a monopoly on dickish evil. I shoot teenage girls in the face after I make them tell me what I want to know. Don't need no religion, I believe in homicide.
Anyway, I'm annoyed that I have to pump a whole five points into each level of the skill tree. Frankly, I don't want a pissing little 1% accuracy boost just to unlock the next level of stuff. Stupid.
Also annoying: my 1 minute duration droid-sleep skill which is made pointless if my companion takes a flying leap over to the droid and either wakes it right up again or starts focusing it while it rapidly heals back the damage... argh. Especially bad when I'm trying to remove an elite from the fight or playing "how the fuck did we aggro that".
But, all in all a pretty fun game. Really tempted to roll a Jedi on a PvE server just to mess about. I think that might be tomorrow.
Oh, also: MY AGENT UNLOCKED SPRINT, I AM THE MOTHERFUCKING FLASH - or so it feels now.

Same I like most probably everybody else thought they were fine having paid for the game and having entered the keycode, now servers start up and wtf "there is no active subscription on this account" and now of course the website for setting up a subscription is ddos' by their own customers.

you feel this way for at least 5 or 6 levels after getting it, then you begin to yearn for level 25 so you just get your fucking speeder. If there's one down side to this game, it's that there is entirely too much walking/running.

Can't decide whether to get or not. Is the gameplay and content worth 50€?
I want an answer from somebody that isn't :storm-hammer:
Ummmm... read the other 21 pages of this thread and the last 10 pages of the previous thread on the game?
I did read all the pages but was worried this was just another typical MMO launch craze. Even if both O'karr ( IIRC ) and Sandz are storm-hammer wenches I'll listen to the opinions and order now.
not playing this with shc currently but rather with a few workmates (who are terrible at instancing as i found out the other day). overall bioware did an awesome job on this as far as i can tell.
you can play this as pretty much a single player game. pvp is working out suprinsingly well, instances are fun although a bit on the easy side.
i have yet to come across real dickheads but what matters most at the moment is that the smugglers storyline is great fun :)

Yes, 100% agreed.
And the huge "yay" when getting a speeder is very shortlived too once you realise that the later planets are so fucking HUGE that you still are running the same amount of time, if not more.
I would recommend to make very very sure that you have your 48k ready when dinging 25 or you will do /wrists till you have that amount. Tatooine without a speeder is hell.

As long as you save from about 22 you easily get enough money for the speeder

just wait until you get to some of the lvl 36+ planets
the amount of walking/runnin/cyclin whatever the fuck is mind boggling. It was my only :cripes: thing with swtor, the ridiculous amount of walking. Not to mention the speeder is a tad bit faster than walking/running :S.

Tattooine is my fav map by far currently. Alderaan seemed a bit boring and I had a bit of jerkyness on it. Should be on Hoth now which is apparently very good.
I get loads of Huttball as well as I play Imp but everyone sucks at it except me. In the last 3 games Im the only one who scored on my team while everyone else just fucked about being retarded. The only exception to this is the 1 person who passed me the ball with 5 seconds to go just as he died so we ended up in possession of the ball and won as the scores were tied.

I am getting incredibly shit fps at live, even though I had good frame rates at beta. NO fucking idea why and fiddling with the settings one bit. The weirdest part is that everything on low gives me the same frame rates as everything on high (minus bloom and shadow) ie 10-15fps.

I'm still undecided on this game, but I just caught the intro movie on youtube and w t f?
They just made exact copies of scenes out of the movies and jammed them all together. How do people with so little creativity get put in charge of so much money (because it sure looks good)? Amazing CG but whoever story boarded it should DIAF.

Nope. Space combat is a simple rail shooter. Fun, but not terribly complex.
Intro: I do not really see the problem. The only thing which I find badly there was the reaction of the jedi knight on the invasion force. Sith assumed to be defeated since 1000 years. Bunch of unknown spaceships appear, 1 second later he calls out "the sith empire has returned".
A simple "we are under attack" and them wondering who does it until they see the dark force users would have been more logical.
But simply copying scenes from the movies? I do not really see that. The scenes shown there are relatively generic, saying they copy stuff is a bit like saying one wild west movie is copying the other because there is a 1v1 duel in both.
/edit: the asteroid flight thing was somewhat of a straight copy though, I give you that.

Since this a bit off topic:
Okay, well maybe not straight copies of scenes but pretty much every line or moment in the trailer is supposed to evoke a specific moment from the movies and I thought it was really clumsy. Smuggler guy got caught and makes a quip about having the fastest ship in the sector. Yeah I get it, he's han solo. Sith show up in a hangar and the jedi say "this is our fight", yeah I get it it's the scene from ep1 with darth maul. People mount gun stations that look identical to those on the millenium falcon. YEAH I GET IT. It doesn't feel like an original piece of content or mini-story, it just feels like something that desperately wants to remind you of star wars in the most obvious way possible.
I guess I prefer subtlety.

Imperial Operatives/Snipers are pretty rare - which is surprising given how badass the story is (imho, way better than Sith Jugg or BH) and how devastating they can be. The amount of CC the class can put out is ridiculous. I'm loving being a rogue/healer mix (vanish, sap, evasion, hamstring, blind, etc on a main healer?! awesome!)

There's a memory leak issue, period. My client starts at 600Mb, then a second process opens about 10 minutes into a gaming session and slowly starts leaking...all the way up to 2.5GB of ram usage.

My main char is a Imperial Sniper and I am loving the story, I have a Sith Assassin and a Jedi Guardian but much preferring playing as the Imp Sniper they do huge amounts of damage and I am running with Loganbacca who is playing as a BH so we can just Rip everything a new one. Also we worked out today in the Heroic ares it is much better to primary guys then just shoot at targets :P

You are definitly right about those details. But I can understand why they made it like that. The audience needs to be hammered in that "it's star wars", iconic stuff like that is kinda part of it. The imperial and republic intro are a bit more subtle IMO.

The single player stuff is just far too easy to make for a good single player experience, as by modern mmo design it has to be balanced so that any retard can chew through it with whatever awful spec they might conceive. As a result not a single NPC is at all intimidating because you know if you ever have to face them alone it will be completely trivial. Which just helps (along with a load of other things) to completely undermine any immersive elements.
