Do Tyrannos suck or am I doing it wrong.

Currently fitted with 4 med launchers 2 med lasers, 3 tunings and sensor amp, 2 accu recharges and med armour rep.

Compared to my artemis (a few more ep, 3 lvls on robot control and a bit in precsion firing) it sucks, the tank rocks however. Shooting tier 2 ewar artemis takes less than 45secs with the artemis while with the Tyrannos it was taking a good 4 mins with out having a logi termis I would have been completely creamed.

So what does the Tyrannos need fitting and extensions to make it work?

Shooting the wrong kind of missiles???

You want to be doing seismic damage UNLESS the bots are dropping seismic plates, in which case you want to switch to thermal.. Which might explain why you are doing better with lasers..

Also missile launchers have a horrible rate of fire with low skills.

I have two more weeks and then I will slip behind the wheel of my Mesmer. Can't wait! :D

I was using the seismic missiles, good point about ROF, for em and lasers the rof is usually last on my list of extensions (higher accu usage), will dump some ep into the missile ROF before giving up completly. I just could not believe the difference between the Tyranos nose diving against its correct target and my Artemis that eats them with no issues.

Yeah it can suck.. I noticed with the Waspish it wasn't putting out anywhere near the DPS of my Arbalest until I sunk a lot of EP in to missiles.. I figured seeing as all the bots use missiles in one way or another it wasn't a waste of EP.

I'm working on a Baphomet now.. Seems I'm going for all of the Assaults before I get in to mechs..

I was about to decide upon a char reset and claim back the ~100k ep I had spent, but if it has the possibility of not sucking (WITH MORE ep) I may well just keep it. it is a nice feeling to be able to use every thing (even if specialising is actually the better option).

Ummm... Tailn tbh your Tyrannos fit blows. I'm assuming you use long range missiles and lasers. Just... forget that, Tyrannos is more a close range brawler, go with compact missiles and ACs (or close range lasers), ditch the accu rechargers and plonk in 2 active hardeners, I usually went with 1 thermal + 1 chemical vs Thelodica bots.

You gotta milk every volley you get out for max damage, hence the compacts (115 vs 70 base dmg is a huge leap). And as said before, if the npc mech drops seismic hards, go with thermal or chemical missiles. After a while it won't matter though, since your skills will make a nice boost in damage.

For ACs, you really won't need anything else as ammo than chemical rounds, the med ACs have decent optimal even with it.

I went with the lasers to deal with the light bots (precision firing 9) rather than the AC's which have trouble with barn doors. Pumped another 30k ep into missiles last night and got my damage and explosion sizes up a bit and that seems to have made a huge difference. Still not comparable to the artemis in terms of pure DPS but yes I am using long range missiles and long range lasers to help kiting grophos. So change to brawler low accu fitting and get a tank on board also going to swap out the useless laser tuning (I got another missile tuning the other night finally) for a weapon stabiliser and see if that helps with clearing assaults and lights.

So Tyrannos sucks with low missile skills and crap fitting. And may be OK with better skills and a more sensible fitting.
