View Full Version : [Devblog] CPM2 ELECTION AHEAD

July 14 2015, 05:10:06 PM
The Council of Planetary Management (CPM) is a player-elected council that represents the views, issues and concerns of the community to CCP. It has been a year since CPM1 started their duties and we are now ready to proceed with the second election.
WHY VOTE IN THE CPM ELECTION? CPM is an important part of the development process for CCP. Members of the Council bring feedback and suggestions of their constituencies to CCP. As all CPM members sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement – developers can discuss future plans with the Council, before bringing changes to the general public. It leaves the room for necessary adjustments and improvements. Your vote means that the selected representative has a chance to pass your views, ideas and concerns to our developers.
ELECTION PROCESS Each election begins with a candidate application period, which lasts for two weeks. During this time, candidates can apply through the form on our website (https://dust514.com/community/cpm/application). After candidacy application period ends, CCP reviews all applicants to ensure that the requirements are met.
Finally, the voting stage begins. Players are allowed to vote for their preferred candidates through the CPM portal. Once the voting period has ended, the votes are tallied and the council membership is determined using Single Transferable Vote (STV) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_transferable_vote), with seven candidates being selected for the final council.
REQUIREMENTS To become an eligible candidate, DUST player must be 18 years of age or older, unless the legal age of majority in your home country is higher than 18, in which case the minimum age is the age of majority. Additionally, applying account has to be active for at least 90 days prior to the election. Application forms can be found here (https://dust514.com/community/cpm/application). In addition to the application, candidates are required to submit a copy of their passport to cpm2@ccpgames.com
In order to be eligible to vote, an active DUST 514 account must be at least sixty (60) days in age, and must have had at least sixty (60) hours of playtime in the twelve (12) months before voting begins (to the calendar day of the preceding year). Only active accounts are allowed to vote. Any player is allowed to vote in the election with any number of eligible accounts that they hold.
