Apparently if you work long enough with rocks you become so good at them that you can beat RD at throwing them ... and creating an nuclear explosion? FO:E would have a field day with that ...

Actually I find this definite proof of "earth pony magick". So Pie family is mostly earth/rock magic with Pinkie being weird one with her precognition and 4th wall breaking skills. Apples are also "earth magic" but in green thumb kind of way.
So with earth ponies having their own clearly magical talents there is no need for "Earth pony way" and one of major world building elements of FO:E is cancelled out of existence. Need for technology isn't near that great when you have "telents" such as seen in the show.

I didn'T want to overthink it ... or else we could discuss why did twilight not just levitate that dumb rock ... or just the samll one pinkie got her foot stuck under.

This episode went from strange, to "wat," to "what the fuck" in very short order. I don't know what else to say about it; I can't decide if I liked it or not.

The jokes, pacing and scripting was pretty much unlike any other episode. The whole awkwardness-bit was very well done, and not to mention Maud. One of the better eps this season I think.

I think that new show writer Noelle Benvenuti really nailed the tone of the show and characters on her first try. I can't find anything about her online, though.

Meh, don't know if I hate or like this episode. Should have ended it with them just not clicking and have that be the lesson.

Well what a nice lesson that would be: "It is ok to not be friends with someone who is different."

I know that isn't what you would see, but it is still a kids show. And that is probably what they understand.

I didn't mean that maliciously, god damn. They even touched on it that they just don't click.

I know you do, but it is still a gamble. You are not the target-audience.
