Hello,

I have 2 days to go till my fiance's 22nd birthday, and she desperatly wants to find a beverage that is both a social lubricant but does not taste like alcohol. Ive tried everything I can think of but no matter what I have her try it ends up making her want to vomit. There was a mixed drink once she said she liked, called a sweet tart, but I was un-able to recreate it. She likes lambics but they are hard to find here so If im going to import anything id like some recommendations.

Also: Thread is post your favorite spirits if you dont have an answer to my question.

I like COLD Belgian style beers.

Content: Affligem, Leffe, Duvel, Delirium are all good Belgian beer choices btw

e: yeah didn't read OP properly, for alcoholic beverages that don't taste very alcoholic, try making it sweet, like a daiquiri or something along those lines.

Bellini tbh, champagne/cava mixed with some high quality peach syrup. Doesnt taste like alcohol and chicks love that stuff. (me too  )

Else just mix with various juices and sodas, add lots of lime. Its real easy to get something that tastes like some ridicilously sweet soda/punch and has no hint of alcohol taste.

But yeah, try the champagne/cava route. Cava is inexpensive and pretty damn awesome.

Some beer that don't feel like beer:
Pécheresse (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%C3%AAcheresse). Very low alcohol, sweet taste of peaches. It's a bit too sweet for my taste, think mixing a beer with peach syrup (not really) but still delicious and refreshing.
Kasteel Rouge (http://www.vanhonsebrouck.be/) (shit flash is shit). 8° of pure cherry madness. It's a bit similar to a kriek but better (imo). I don't buy kriek anymore since I know this beer.
Faro (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faro_(beer)#Faro). It's a bit weird but I like it. Lindemans (guys who make the Pécheresse) do it in big bottle so it's pretty convenient for aperitif.

Grasshopper? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grasshopper_%28cocktail%29)

Do it with milk instead of cream if you want to actually use it to drink.

I didn't mean I wasn't able to find the recipe. I meant that I fail at mixology and always seem to fuck up the mixing.

Well it's Baileys + kahlua + cognac

But I haven't had one in..10? years or so..

And it's fun to watch people burn their nostril hair when the barkeeper hands em out with short straws.

I have never understood why B52s were designed as shooters, since they are pretty damned tasty to sip on.

Only excuse for a man to drink Baileys is A.) He's a poof or B.) There's a bottle open that's about to go off.

For the OP. A friend of mine doesn't like alcohol or most drinks either. He'll drink the odd Asian beer, like Tiger or Cobra, he finds them light and refreshing but flavoursome unlike Bud. Also he quite likes Sake at sushi bars. And his regular pub drink is Southern Comfort and lime.

I mix mine with coffee :obama:. That's my only acceptable use for it.
